There are a few free items if you enable shop mode and go through buy mode... so, I got those and promptly turned off shop mode. My game crashed once while I was doing this, so I don't really want to leave the feature on.

I finally gave in and updated. I haven't heard anything terrible about the patch, so I figured that was a good sign. So far so good.
Me too, updating right now

Almost immediate for me. They said "Can't update because your running the sims'; but, the update came after I launched, so I played for half an hour and when I exited and restarted, they saif I was already up to date.

Maybe it`s because I haven`t updated the EA Donwload Manager?

It's mostly done through Origin now I think. Do you mean downloading or installing? Mine took ages to install to halfway but sped the rest quickly. Download was average but that's because my internet speed/connection is average.

I also found a pair of ladies' boots, a boys' t-shirt and a men's tank top through CAS for free.

I downloaded the patch and then tried to go into the game and it kept crashing.  My sister said to uninstall Origin and when I did, the game loaded after that.   Guess will see what happens. :)

No one has mentioned the "Fixed an issue where the ladle failed to function with the magic cauldron" note.

Question is... what Magic Cauldron??

Magic around the corner?  perhaps to go with the new crazy trees?  anyone know?

I read here that it basically means that there was a problem with store content that hasn't yet been uploaded. It may not be true though.

So far the only problem with this patch, for me, has been a crash when I was building a house.

The patch has also given us some new wall patterns:

and floor patterns:

Both are in the Miscellaneous section.

Ooh nice! I can see great potential for those wall patterns!

For the love of Cow Plants, is the patch slow to download for anyone else!?

I just love that expression! Too bad I couldn't use that in every day life... I so want to.

Exciting stuff.  I had no problems with the patch.  For those with ATi cards, we now have pets with fur.  Yay.  Glad to see the fish back.

I don't think the travel bug is fixed.  At least one person at the Exchange was still having the problem of a disappearing family after patching.  :(

Is this a new feature? When I go into build or buy, I get items from the store popping up for me to buy? I'm sure I've never had this before.
