@samoth04: Only the parent can change the name of the child by going to the City Hall. When the child grows up, he or she can do it him- or herself. As far as I know, the child don't have to be on the lot.

Okay thanks Leto, I vaguely remembered doing that as a Time Machine child came back with a really stupid name and I used the Father to change it.

OK I changed the names, thanks. And yes, I did it by the parent only. He changed the names of his 3 children.
But I was surprised when I threw a wedding party, but then the "get married " option never appeared. The female Sim who was supposed to be the bride was pregnant so I understood that this was the reason, but I have never read before that female Sims can't get married while being pregnant. So is it true?

I have never heard that and never seen proof that it is true? If it is a private wedding try having the couple get married in a remote location not near the kids.

If you have a household of 7 sims already, you can't add a pregnant woman to your family since it would push the count above the limit of 8 sims when the child is born. Except in that case, pregnant women can get married.

I guess that was the case Swede. But I was willing to move them out after the wedding! Of course the game didn't know. Oh well.

You would basically have to completely ignore the child.  Don't feed him, don't change diapers, etc.  But be aware, if the social worker comes to take one child, she will take all of them.  What's going on that you need to have a child taken away?  There's probably another solution somewhere.

Haha! That's a good question! But unfortuniatly, I can only say that I think it will return as a ghost without any social worker who is coming to get it. A social worker is not a fire fighter, so as the toddler dies in a fire, they are not going to save it. This is only what I think though. For simanitarian reasons, I've never tested it.

Maybe Pam knows the answer?

I think a toddler dying of starvation would get the Social Worker to come first.  And like Leto said, dying in a fire wouldn't involve a Social Worker at all.  But I don't know if the toddler's ghost would come at night like other ghosts.  I've never heard of it happening, but I don't see why a toddler ghost would be any different from any other ghost.

Yeah Right Solstice!  I have two weeks holiday left! Won't catch me going to bed earlier or getting up before 10!  But I might tomorrow as I always wake up when I don't want to, if no one does it 'over night' if no one posts results I will get on a do the test.
