Ever since the first patch, any of the new objects and features added have had quite weird names in my game. Like this ghost gnome weird.

Or this music station weird.

Or even this lovely pool weird.

Now I was fine dealing with this, under the false belief it would be fixed 'soon', but now that I can't even tell what my Sims are doing in the pool I feel like it is now a problem.

If anyone can help, I would be very appreciative. Thanks!

Any mods in the mix? If not, I would consider re-installation. That's quite an odd problem you got going.

This seems to happen for people off and on. I've got a few romantic interactions that are just strings off letters and numbers like your pictures. I've also read other people having this problem some weeks ago! If you clear the cache and click 'repair game' on your game in the origin window it seems to go away. Well, it did for me... there is some info on this post  :) that might help.

I tried to clear my caches and repair the game except that didn't seem to work. I don't have the energy for a complete reinstall just as yet.

I had this problem after the ghost patch. Any interactions involving ghosts were just strings of letters and numbers. I tried the repair option in Origin but that didn't fix it. I figured I wasn't too attatched to any of my sims or games, so I uninstalled the game and re-installed it. It worked a treat, i could finally ask a ghost about being dead and other interactions plus all my sims and games were still there. Maybe you need to go down the re-install path.

@ Twinmum,

so did you uninstall your game as in totally uninstalled using the windows uninstall program thingy, then reinstall it... and all your saved games and sims were all still there?
I so don't want to lose my legacy game, it would kill me to start all over again! That's why I haven't dared do the uninstall/install thing.

I think I uninstalled it through Origin... Right click on Sims 4 once you have Origin open and one of the choices is to uninstall.

@ Twinmum, thanks for your quick reply. I'm still too scared to do this! lol. I'll wait till I've finished my legacy then give it a crack. Until then I think I'll just put up with letter/number string interactions.  ::)

When you uninstall it through Origin it tells you that the process will remove files in the game installation directory, but nothing about the save directory.

Hi Manicanikum,

This seems like a familiar bug. This is what I've been able to find from EA's help site.
