Who will be the Founder of my Immortal Dynasty?--Technical Difficulties
« Reply #75 on: April 02, 2013, 09:00:32 PM »
So...I keep having challenges with my college daze challenge.  Specifically, it keep closing on me.  I moved them to a new save file in hopes that it would fix the issue, but it seems to have actually gotten WORSE!  I am debating finding a different way to settle the challenge more immediately rather than going through the full challenge.  For example, maybe switching it to only needing to max two skills rather than three.  I'll keep you all posted.  Thanks for your patience with my technical troubles.

At least Ellody is taking things in stride.

Oh no more glitches! Hopefully you sort it out - or worst case, you probably have enough information at this point to decide your founder anyway! Good luck!

Well, that's probably true.  I have an idea going of how I may settle it.  I don't want it to just abruptly stop when so many of you have been reading and enjoying it all this time.

Pippin-The household continues working on developing their skills.

And Janicia works on a nice surprise for Patrizia,
while Ellody does more on-line chatting.

When Patrizia sees it all set up,

she is delighted with the great work area that has been created for her.  Janicia did a painting of her, an ice sculpture of her, and Patrizia's Best Artist award is hanging on the wall by her easel.
Patrizia-Thank you so much, Janicia!  This is one of the nicest things anyone has done for me!
Janicia-Sure thing, Patty.  I needed to develop my painting and sculpting skills more anyway.
Patrizia-Umm, I actually don't like being called Patty.
Janicia-Oh.  My bad, Patty.

Pippin-When she finished her on-line chatting, Ellody continued developing her social networking skill (which is replacing photography in her communications major).  Wait, did I just see my name in that blog?
Ellody-No...maybe...
Pippin-(Sigh) At any rate, the next day, Mr. Parker went out to check the mail

and learned that the rules were changing.
                Dear competitors,
The rules of the game are about to change.
Instead of having unlimited time to complete
your majors, we are now setting a deadline.
You have until 8:00PM this Saturday.
At that point, whoever has the most skill points
in their major areas will be declared our winner.
(For Jamal, three rocks will equal one skill point
since the collection calls for 30 rocks)
                                                      Best of luck,
                                                       Pippin

It is Tuesday now, so they have under 5 days of the competition remaining, but before they jump back into the competitive activities, nice guy Mr. Parker announced that he was taking the household for a day of entertainment.
Mr. Parker-Let's go guys.  I have a surprise for you.

Jamal-I call riding in the trunk!!!

Janicia-Alright!  Karaoke party!
Patrizia-We'll see about that.
Janicia-What?

Pippin-While the others chatted and enjoyed the ambience, Patrizia set to work trying to sabotage the karaoke machine.

Hey, Ellody, isn't this a great chance to meet new friend to build that charisma skill?
Ellody-Don't interrupt me, Pippin, I'm reading.

And meantime, Jamal and Janicia practiced not being friends

including slapping.
Behind them, Patrizia was caught and the karaoke was able to continue.
What are you doing now, Ellody?

Ellody-Admiring the prettiest girl here.
Pippin-First up to sing

was Jamal.

He started a dance party

up until he did an epic power leap and face planted into the ceiling.
Next up on the mics

we had Janicia and Patrizia.
Janicia-Let's rock this place, Patty!
Patrizia-(Sigh) Okay.

Janicia seems to have trouble seeing the screen.
Janicia-Jinkies!  I lost my glasses!
Pippin-And Ellody took the opportunity to dance with a new friend.

Pippin-It's nice that they could enjoy a bit of down time before this last stretch of the competition.
Janicia-(Singing)  The ants are my friends.  They're blowing in the wind.  The ants are all blowing in the wind.
Mr. Parker-I'm pretty sure it's "The answer is blowing in the wind...?"

Hahaha, that was funny! I am delighted to see more Jamal in action again. He always make me laugh (^w^)d
So, it's has a time limited now. Well, good luck Jamal! and others too lol.

Oh, yeah how to make the format like in red text thing, Pippin? ;D

This is a nice update, but to know that there will be a time limited, somehow make me kinda sad...
(because this amazing story will be over too) :(

Actually, Ricalynn just fixed that for me.  It's actually against forum story-posting rules to use other colors than black.  I went back and fixed it in the earlier chapter where they received a letter again.
Thanks for looking out for me, Ricalynn  :=)

Oh, no. Not the red thing Pippin, the format of the letter itself. I'm curious about it. If you don't mind can you send me a PM how to do it? Because this is started not related to the story itself ^_^

--- To keep back into the topic ---

It's nice for that scoring. So, Jamal will still have his chance if he collected more rock! He still have a chance to win!

Pippin:  The household was actively out trying to build up their skills.
Janicia went out to find more good scenes for her photography, but instead, she seems to have become a fan girl.

Janica:  His voice is just so dreamy!
Pippin:  Anyway, Patrizia also set out for more photo ops...at the cemetery
Patrizia:  It's so peaceful here.
Pippin:  Yes, hence "rest in peace," I suppose.
At any rate, Ellody went to the pool to make new friends and improve her charisma skill.

Where are all the people?
Ellody:  I have the pool to myself.  I'll just chat on-line later.  You make friends your way, I'll make friends my way.
Pippin:  Meantime, Jamal was working on upgrading a toilet to self-cleaning

when he heard knocking.
Jamal:  Who is banging on a toilet outside?  Why don't I get to use the toilet outside?

Pippin:  Opening the door, he was greeted by a lovely stranger.
Stranger: Welcome to AP, a splend-

Stranger: A-a toilet! Is this a pran-

Jamal: I like France's fries.
Nadia: Is Frances Frize a celebrity?
Jamal: Okay, can you run there and get us some toilet paper? Thanks. Bye.

Jamal: (Thinking to himself as he re-enters the house) Now where did I leave that toilet?

Author's note:  Yes, that lovely young visitor was Nadia from Swirl-Girl's story Nadia's Escape

This was actually hilarious. I'm so glad ridiculous Jamal was the one to come to the door. What are his traits again? The only one I remember is Evil.

*cough* *cough* *cough* Rosa, you're can be a big meanie sometimes :P

The only things that I remember from him are hydrophobic, neurotic, snob, and evil traits. As his starter traits, but the new traits I do forget. What it is again? It is ever mentioned when he grew up :P

Correct, Eld.  Those were his first four, and I seem to have failed to mention that he added the gatherer trait when he aged up.

Great suggestion!
Janicia has: Perceptive, party animal, diva, artistic, and neat
Jamal has:  Evil, neurotic, hydrophobic, snob, and gatherer
Patrizia has: Technophobe, loser, photographer's eye, artistic, and nurturing
Ellody has:  Great kisser, disciplined, bookworm, snob, and born saleswoman

Janicia and Patrizia are both trying to max painting, sculpting, and photography.  Ellody is trying to max social networking, writing, and charisma.  Jamal is trying to max handiness and logic as well as collecting 30 different rocks/gems/metals.

Scoring-wise, Ellody is at 13 (though allowances being made for her to catch back up on the relationships lost in the re-save), Jamal is at 18, Patrizia is also at 18, and Janicia has 16.  Bear in mind, these are the scores as of SimTuesday and their deadline is SimSaturday.  Anything could happen...

What you could do is have however many relationships Ellody had written down, and then score them up along with any others she gains on Saturday.

Not a bad idea.  I was just going along with the "only doing skill things between 6 and 6" rule I had put in place, but letting her make friends outside of those hours.  tallying it up could be far easier.  Maybe do it as a collection like Jamal's rocks/metals/gems instead of a score for the skill...

Got it memorized! Gatherer eh, I should have known that before (looking at collecting things).
Pippin, do you choose the trait yourself? Or, you hit random button for the contestant?

Hmhmhm~~ it would be nice if in the end you add final words from each contestant when Pippin will read the result. It's like their thought, their feeling, their fear etc. Or something that they will say to the fans of the series ^_^

The scoring itself is very confusing for the current me \(@[email protected])>
