Why can't my Fairy scuba dive?

I am playing a fairy and a mermaid.  obviously my mermaid is having no problem diving underwater.  However, my fairy has gotten to level 7 in scuba diving by snorkeling and she will not scuba dive when i instruct her.  Is there a reason for this or is it just a game glitch?  if anybody can help me i would greatly appreciate it.

This may be a game glitch. However, here are some tips that may help. Please forgive me for repeating steps you may have already tried.

1. Reset the Sim, or evict the household and move them back in - as a way of resetting the household.

2. Delete Game Cache Files (What & Howto)

3. Make sure a mod or custom custom isn't interfering with your game - Move your mods folder to the desktop and try the game again.

4. Move the household to a new town to see if that helps. ** Save the household to library and try them in a new game to test this out if need be.

Thank you for the suggestions!!  i will try them.  If i "reset" my sim, will that mean i have redo all the leveling and reading that i have already done?

Your Sims will be fine. All it does is resets their person, if that makes sense. If they're sitting down reading a skill book, they'll still have that book in their inventory and still have the skill level and such. They'll just be standing in place after the reset is finished.
