Buydebug Hidden Lights don't work when I'm in Live Mode

It's night time & my Sim keeps getting that moodlet about it being dark, despite the fact that I have plenty of those wonderful, bright, special lights that you find in BuyDebug mode. The big square, rectangular, & round ones. I had to remove them, then put them back, & it seemed to solve it. But now that I'm back, it's dark in his house again. What gives? I love those lights as, when they're working, they're nice & bright. But if they don't work & I can't "turn them on" then it kind of defeats the purpose. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

I can't believe it's taken me so long to see that I had a reply to this. I have been feeling very ill off & on, so perhaps it's been resolved in game by now. Since I've been feeling better, I decided to catch up on some stuff.
Anyway, since the lights were invisible to me, except in build/buy mode w/cheats on, changing the colors wasn't possible. I couldn't see them or anything at all. I don't remember where I was when this happened, it was a very bad time IRL when I posted this. I will have to see what was going on & if it's been spontaneously resolved by now. Hopefully it no longer applies.
