I got a 'Power Meter' in the mailbox. I have no idea what it is or how to use it. Anybody have answers?

It is a decor item that you can find in Buy Mode>Decor>Miscellaneous Decor>Virtuous Voltage Electrical Boxes.

I couldn't place it in the game though. Like on tables or the floor and whatnot. But if I drag it onto my sim, my sim kind of highlights. Like it lights up. But nothing happens to my sim.

If it's an electrical box, it goes on the side of the house. It might be related to Supernatural? I'm not really sure as there isn't a whole lot of information on it.

Yep MrsFlynn is right. It is only a decor item and is placed on a wall. Not sure which pack it came with but it's quite a nice touch for more realistic builds.

Pretty sure it's not the electrical box cause it's not a decor item. I got in from the mailbox but it's been placed in my sim's bag. Not the inventory in buy mode. If it helps, I attached a picture of it

Thank you for sharing a photo of it. I'm still not sure what it is. I tried searching for it as a Power Meter switch and nothing much came up.

Weird question, can you put it on your Sims' head?

When you mouse over it, does it give any kind of description.

Oh that is not the electrical box! It looks like some kind of science/weird invention hat.  :-\

@Asphodel are you doing the "Master Invention" opportunity chain?  If so, it might be the "Life Core" for a Simbot.  I haven't done that opportunity in eons but I think it looked something like that.  Sometimes you also get really weird stuff sent to you by admirers.

Thank you Mags! This was driving me a bit nuts! I knew I had seen this before but couldn't remember. If you can use it to make a simbot on the invention bench then you know that is what the item is.

The 'Build Mystery Invention' interaction should be available on the invention bench when you click on it now Asphodel. You also need life fruit, 100 pieces of scrap, a heart cut pink diamond, and 1 palladium.

No I haven't been doing that opportunity chain, and my sim doesn't even have the inventing skill yet. When I drag it onto my sim, she just kind of highlights. But nothing happens. This is so weird hahahaha I'll keep you guys posted if I figure something out! Thanks for all the help :)

Asphodel,

Would you be willing to package and attach the Sim to this thread? Maybe if we can see the item in-game we can help figure out more information on it.

ok I think I have it sussed now thanks to some other simmers I asked for help. I quote their reply to me;

"...It comes with one of the opportunities for the athletic skill to keep track of your progress while you do the activities with it in the Sim's inventory. It's like a walking meter in real life in your pocket that counts your steps. It doesn't come in the mailbox, it automatically populates in the Sim's inventory when one accepts the matching opportunity for the athletic skill. After the Sim has completed the opportunity and checked in with the Sim with whom he/she is supposed to check in with in town, the thing disappears."

Hopefully this finally solves this mysterious items origins!
