How to build functioning community lots?

I've seen some awesome lot ideas, like flower shop, prison, various retail stores such as ice cream shop, toy store etc. But how does one go about creating these lots and making them a functioning lot. Thanks!

Those lots might be created with mods and or custom content. You may want to consider asking about this at ModtheSims or TSR or another modding community.

When a post is locked that means no one can reply to the post.

I'm a bit rusty on Sims 3 but For shops you could look into a consignment store, from Ambitions you can sell crafts there like sculptures etc.

For the toy shop I remember one coming with midnight hollow that was functional.

Not too sure on the other ones though.

Thanks! Alot of store ideas I've seen for the game is pretty cool. I have ambitions, pets, supernatural and more recently into the future. I had world adventures and night life as well as university life.
