How do I get my sims to bake cookies

My sims often have opportunities to bake cookies -- two batches of them if I remember correctly. I assume I have to buy a cookie book, which is no problem. But how do I get a sim to bake them, in batches yet?

You have to bake two servings of cookies and place them in your Sim's personal inventory, so others can't get into them before you're ready to finish the opportunity.

Yes, you have to buy the book from the bookstore and then use the oven to bake the cookies. Make two servings and put both into your Sim's personal inventory till its time to deliver the cookies.
