Sim getting caught after curfew
« on: January 26, 2019, 12:50:59 AM »
 hi!

I am playing the runaway teen sim challenge. thought i'd give it go, and my teenager keeps getting caught by the police! the cop even came at the firestation where she was sleeping and took her home. is this supposed to happen each time she breaks curfew? I don't even send her to school and she keeps getting messages about bad grades?  thanks for any answers

It sounds like it's likely to happen the the teen will be caught by police or go home on their own.

Here's more info on Curfew -
https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Curfew

The few times I've played with teens out after curfew they've gotten caught and scolded. I didn't like that, so I installed a mod to see if that helps. I'm not fully sure if it does as I haven't given it a really good test.

The bad grades part is normal. A ten will not be taken away for that. They will just graduate w/a fail at worst. They will also be scolded by an older sim in the household for skipping school, but they (the teen) can do good deeds like cleaning up the house and making the beds to get on the older sim's good side. You can also d/l a no scolding mod from Naughty Sims Asylum or use nraas retuner to remove the punishment form of scolding. The only thing that happens if you don't have the teen doing good deeds is that the relationship between teen and older sim will deteriorate.

I really don't know how to install mods to make them work properly. was tempted to delete the cop and police car! lol. I am having fun playing a runaway teen but every where she goes, the cop escorts her home. bummer.

To install mods Peanuts, just extract the zip into documents/y documents/sims 3/mods/packages. You have to have the "resource" file to make them work. The nraas mods are the safest b/c they have been thoroughly tested. Other than that, I *think * there might be a mod over at TFM's Naughty Sims Asylum that removes the curfew. I'm not totally sure though.

I didn't want to edit my last post, but I had one more thought here. You need to create a "Mods" folder and then within that folder create a "Packages" folder. Then you can extract the mods into the "Packages" folder. That is the basics.

You really don't need to be that "tech savy." Just open your Explorer, navigate to Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3. Right click on the Sims 3 folder and select New, then Folder and name that folder Mods. Do the same thing on that folder and name it Packages. To get a resource.cfg file, you can just go here: http://modthesims.info/t/424043 and click on the link in the second post.  Put that file in the main "Mods" folder. You have to have that file or the game will not read the mods.
