Dear Diary...Kids Grow Up Fast
It is so good to wake up and see this view. The town we grew up in. What's more right than coming home to continue Great Grandma Nadia's Legacy. It's been good catching up with old high school friends and families. Things even seem and feel new in town. Why this is I haven't figured out. Maybe it's fresh eyes. However, everyone seems younger even.
Dad loves having us home. He never hesitates to pull out his wallet and show off pictures. He takes so many pictures of them. Faythe and Hope have started hiding his cameras! Dad's friends just humor him and listen. They understand that we are home and he is happy.
The kids keep us so busy. Immediately the girls begged to be in ballet with their new friends. It seems to have helped with their clumsiness. Jeffery says though eventually the leotard and tights will have to be washed. How sneak them to the laundry I don't know. Faythe insists it is bad luck to wash a ballerina's leotard and tights. Pretty soon though the costumes will be able to dance by themselves.
Mom spent hours at a sewing machine. She surprised Jeffery, Faythe, and Hope with a costume chest. They spend hours dressed up as anything their minds can think up. Jeffery says they have the coolest house in all of Barnacle Bay. That explains why so many kids are over...and why we can never bake enough cookies for them all!
Roland is very proud of his son Jacob. Roland debated about allowing him to go and enroll in scouts. I could tell Roland was still debating on boarding school. Jeffery is settling down though. He's even allowed to go on field trips now. The science lab keeps Jacob busy also. He is constantly going around town collecting items for Roland to work on. Jacob loves helping out his Dad.
Time marches on though. I begin getting gray hair. Jeffery gains a few wrinkles. To top it all off, the kids are turning into teenagers. They grew up very much like triplets instead of cousins. So we all agreed to throw a huge birthday bash for them.
Half the town showed up! Mom and I could barely cook to feed them all. Everyone was laughing and having a good time. No one noticed that a fire was in the fireplace. Until suddenly an explosion was heard from the living room. We rushed in to see the entire room in flames. Thankfully, our friends helped us to get the fire out in time. Ash covered we all laughed. Little Stanely said it best , "Gee Ms. Klara you sure know how to throw a hot party!" It was party no one will forget soon!
