Unicorns
« on: October 19, 2011, 06:46:26 AM »
I know they are in the EP. Yesterday I created a sim and a horse in the new town, and I chose his LTW to adopt a unicorn. How do I complete this? I can't find it!  ???

I chose the same LTW for one of my sims.  I assumed they would spawn in the wild kind of like the minor pets do, but I don't know if that is correct and if so, where they would be likely to show up.  I'm interested to hear if anyone has found one yet.

They spawn in the wild, with a very small chance. If you see a rainbow in your neighborhood, you better rush there. It's said that the chances to find one increase if your sim has a high Wild Life skill (it's a hidden skill, you raise it by befriending wildlife such as deers, wild horses, etc). Good luck to us!

I heard somewhere that they will be for adoption where you adopt horses (like on the phone) but that could be incorrect information.

I have seen one once on my lot, and if you haven't interacted with wild animals much yet, they key is to use "watch" a bunch of times instead of trying to pet it and stuff because watching it builds trust. Eventually the Unicorn blessed my horse and warped away but hopefully it will come back so I can work on befriending it some more.

Good luck everyone!

I created a horse, than this morning was playing more, and my sim has level 10 riding, and I adopted one from the phone, but a unicorn wasn't a choice for me.  :'( Good luck on befriending it Candyraver! And welcome to the forums!

It looks like you have to befriend all creatures (don't know how much that will be) and than you can search the sky at night for an Aurora that glows above the unicorns area.

I read something in the official forums here that said if you go into map view at night, you might see a rainbow colored light and that's where the unicorn will be.

My Sim just met and adopted a black unicorn. I found it totally by chance I was in map view when a rainbow shower appeared over Cinnamon Crest Falls. There were lots of wild horses all around as well as the unicorn.

It's the same as with adopting any of the other strays - first make friends with them then you get an option to "Invite Unicorn to join household" (I think that's how it's worded).

I wish I'd made adopting a unicorn my Sim's LTW!

That's awesome! My sim's lifetime wish is to adopt a unicorn. I haven't seen one yet, though. Did you find at night or during the day?

That is amazing Ficklemuse. Can you post a picture of your unicorn?
Is it true the black unicorns come at night and the white one at day? Because that's what I'm thinking now.

I found a whitish unicorn at night - so there goes the theory that only black unicorns come at night. My sim found it much easier to make a relationship with the unicorn than her husband had with wild horses. In the end she was blessed and the unicorn teleported.

I also found my unicorn was easier to interact with than my efforts with a wild horse, though not by much. It teleported away around 5 AM or so.

I've saw that up to 3 people on www.thesims3.com have already uploaded a unicorn the the site. I haven't downloaded any of them however.

Unicorns are really easy to find. I myself have found and adopted one already, in what, 2 or 3 Sim days. It's a pity you can't edit them in CAP, so they're stuck to being either black or white (didn't find any other color yet). Returned both to the wild.

I saw a unicorn! Sonny Horse was the name of this white one. He became very fast a good friend with my sim, but now only he want to join my household after I've befriend all species.
My sims has befriended a horse, a cat who both are living with him. Perhaps he should get a dog. :)

I just found ( well the dog did! :D ) a white unicorn .My only question is : when I'm asking to join the household, the unicorn rejected me with this message " First prove to me that you are a friend to all creatures. Only then will I consider your offer" . What am I missing ? The unicorn is BFF, also the sim has 4 friends pets ( 5 with unicorn).

I think (and I can't confirm) that by all creatures, it means you need to have a horse friend, a cat friend, and a dog friend. I don't know if the unicorn counts as the horse friend, though. Someone correct me if I am wrong, because I am trying to build relationships with these three species. If it turns out that I don't actually need to do that, I would like to know. My sim still hasn't seen a unicorn yet. :-\

Thank you for the response. Like I said : I have 4 friends : 1 horse, 2 dogs and one cat. That was the reason I've posted this on the forum. I just don't get it where I'm wrong!

So I was at a competition with one of my horses, when I looked back at my home to check on the others when I got a bit of a surprise

I had to delay it from running away so I sent in a horse to keep it busy.

I got there in time to end up adopting it!   ;D

When I pulled the camera back a bit, I noticed at the same time I was being over-run by wild horses.

This sim is 3 game weeks old and this is the first unicorn I had seen, and it saved me the trouble of going to look for it   ;D

@Wevee

Did you have a cat and dog friend when you adopted the unicorn?
