New World Coming To The Store - Lunar Lakes
« Reply #101 on: February 16, 2012, 04:23:12 PM »
Well, after playing with Lunar Lakes for a while, I've got some pros and cons.

Pros:  very fun to explore especially the domes and space ship. The sim families are a blast to play even with the limited time I spent with them.

Cons:  only one so far is that the houses I played we're cool to look at but hard to play...too small and cramped and on too many levels. I tend to play larger families and didn't see any (so far) that would be adequate for that. I already built my own version of a 4 bedroom modern style house for Sofia Vanderberg and her new husband, Michael. I plan for them to have at least 3 children.

So far I'm liking it...mostly.

That's a very good point. I never even thought of that. After Hidden Springs extremely spacious rooms, these houses may be a pain to work with.

Here is a few pictures from Lunar Lakes.  So far, it looks pretty neat and the houses are different, to say the least, but very nice.
There is a pic of the new outfit for the women.  So far, looks to be just one outfit each.

There is a couple of neat houses in these trees somewhere, will explore later.

Fishing spot.

Library.

Cute little house.

If you look close in that picture that looks like a crater, pond and road looks like it is in the shape of a heart.

I've never bought a town that didn't come with an expansion before, (Barnacle Bay, Hidden Springs) but I may just have to start with this one!

Here is what was on the download page about it: "The Tree of Prosperity is available exclusively with Lunar Lakes and allows you to expand your game with all-new gameplay benefits. This exotic plant is made of floating crystals and changes shape throughout the day. Harvest fruit to improve skills and fulfill motives!"

This house reminds me so much of the beach house that Schipperke made for last year's building contest #2.  I like the house in Lunar Lakes, but I have to say that I think Schipperke outdid EA.  :)  Of course, I'm biased.

Is this house somewhere on the forum to download( beach house that Schipperke made) ?

Yeah, You can find it in the Building Contest Board, along with a whole lot of many great houses and other lots which are all available for download in the board. Schipperke's I heat the Beach can be downloaded here.

Just wondering but are there any Pollitician Tech 9's (Or whatever their names are) from Strangetown?

The video walk through thing said there were no returning Sims 2 Characters.

I think it might be. On the opposite end of the Beach to the Pier, near the River Mouth but next to Ausette's Bar.

The video walk through thing said there were no returning Sims 2 Characters.

Ah, I didn't watch the video. Are there any green, blue or red Sims at all?

Frustration ensues when I have 0 simpoints, and it requires 2200! I swore I had a couple of thousand... :(

EDIT: Nevermind, I have 1102. Not enough to get it though even if I spend 10$! I don't want to have to spend 20$ when I already have half of it. >:(

Hey guys I'm taking an extended hiatus... again. I'm out of ideas to build houses and I don't have as much fun designing homes like I used to; it feels more like a chore. So that's where I'll be, I will probably be back sometime. :P

I'm in the middle of exploring Lunar Lakes.

The gravyard is really weird.

I quite like the rabbitholes though, they're very spaceship-y. This one is the criminal warehouse.

New letterboxes.

There's loads of gardens where you can harvest produce. However I'm yet to find a life fruit or deathflower.

Here's a shot from one of the domes out. I think this is Memories of Hidden Springs. They've all got a bit of a flavour of the neighbourhood they're modelling, but they're not that good.

Memories of Sunset Valley in the dark.

Up from the dome towards the science building, which is the only big rabbithole.

I think it looks awesome in the dark.

I'm going to get my simmy a collection helper and then try and work out where to find deathfish and special seeds.

@Ricalynn: I did a list too! Oh well.

(I've been lurking around the guide and forums for a while. This was the thing that got me so excited that I had to register just to share it with someone...)

Has anyone taken a closer look at the graves in the graveyard? Because one of them is someone very familiar to people who've played Sims 1 and 2. Someone who famously went missing...

Bella Goth!

I guess we finally know where she vanished to!

The Tree of Prosperity can be bought by your sims in buy mode...the Entertainment tab.  It costs them 1000 simoleons and they can inbue the tree.  A cool interaction takes place and then your tree changes color.  Click the tree and choose pick fruit.  They eat the fruit and gain a skill level in any random skill.  I'm guessing the tree will end up being off limits for challenges, but of course, that's Metro's call.   Oh, and when you inbue the tree it takes a bit of energy out of you.

Also under decor > plants in the categories.  Fruit of the Harvest gave me some cooking skill (most of a point) and Fruit of the Mind gave me 1 charisma skill.

Also one of the graves at the graveyard is Bella Goth.  Edit: Whoops seems I was beaten to the info again!
