Edit in CAS doesn't save changes
« on: March 16, 2012, 01:47:24 PM »
In Showtime I wanted to change the LTW of Tragic Clown to match his given goal in this game: maxing performing. But the weird thing is whenever I try this, CAS will not save the changes I've made to his LTW. I also tried doing it the regular way: buying the Change Lifetime Wish option, but it has the same result; none.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, eventhough I have no idea what that may be so I'm counting on you all smart fellow gamers.

Any sugestion I could use?

This problem seems familar to Hubby and I. We wanted to edit 3 of our sim people, and their LTW wouldn't stick.  For the life of me can't remember how we fixed it, other than kept selecting the wish we wanted till it did stick, and then saved the sim person to the Sim Bin.

I'm sorry if that's not much help. I just wanted to let you know you're not the only one with this problem. :)

Hi, Leto.

MrsFlynn is right, we did run into this when we started a new game and imported our sims from the Sim Bin into CAS. When we'd switch between tabs and Sims, their LTW would reset. I don't remember exactly what we'd done to make the LTW stick, but we eventually got it. That was at patch 1.31. We're on 1.32 at the moment and I just tried it again and it their changed LTW seems to stick.

How are you bringing Tragic Clown into CAS to change the LTW? I can try the same steps and see if Flynn's LTW does the same thing.

Hey, you're husband and wife: cool!
Well, I've used a cheat to bring him into CAS. Testingcheatsenabled true. And than shift plus click on my Sim to bring up the Edit in CAS function. The rest is history. :P
I've tried it two, there times in a row. You mean I have to try it more?

Yep, we've been married just over 18 years now, and have been "living in Sim" since the original game, heh.

I just pulled my Flynn Sim into CAS using TestingCheatsEnabled On and set his Lifetime Wish to "CEO of a Maga-Corporation" (he's a "Paranormal Profiteer") and after exiting CAS his LTW stayed at what I set. That was at patch 1.32 with my mods enabled. I then removed the mods and tried it again. It also saved the change.

When we originally put them in Union Cove and ran into the problem at patch 1.31. Not sure what we did to fix it other than trying it a few times before it "stuck". Have you updated to 1.32 or 1.33 yet?

EDIT: I used TestingCheatsEnabled On at the main menu then loaded up my game and gave Flynn enough LTR points to choose Change Lifetime Wish. I then changed it to "CEO of a Mega-Corporation" and exited. The changed stuck. I then went to Edit in CAS and changed it back to "Paranormal Profiteer". And that stuck as well.
