Thanks so much, KRae!

I tried your idea, all she kept cranking out was that ugly blond guy, or the...TV?

I was having issues with her twin sister and glorious lag (hurray, Isla Paradiso), so I saved, shut down, cleared cache, restarted.

Gen 3 cranked out the 5 windows in about 15 attempts. :)

I can use the replacement challenge in lieu of something else.

No Mid-Life Crisis LTR, no trait-changing elixirs and no Change Lifetime Wish for heirs and spouses only.

Just to confirm, this means that if the spare had random traits rolled until it was decided she was a spare, I can change her trait(s)?

Backstory: Generation 3 was a set of twins, wherein either one could become the heir. I chose the heir when both were teens (the spare later adapted to land). When they became YA, I decided to have the spare do the adventure to earn Refuge Island. However, she couldn't complete the Firewalk part of the chain.

I made a copy of the original file, and changed her Clumsy trait to Brave, as I'd read that some traits can affect the Firewalk (Cowardly and Neurotic are supposedly bad too). She finished the adventure.

I'd like to change her traits in the official file so she can finish it since, it seems, no one else can even pick it up. And my understanding of this rule is that, since she is a spare, that shouldn't be a problem. Is my understanding correct?

You are correct. You can change the spare's traits.

Awesome, thank you!

That leaves 2 islands left to get - the lifeguard one, and the map piece one.

I think my generation 2 sim may be glitched, she seems to be skilling really really fast as in lightning speed. It's her first simday as a child and she's completed two paintings so far (One small one medium) and now she's level 10 in the skill. She aged up at 3 am it's now 10 am.  She is a Vampire however since it's daytime and she doesn't have that mood let that vampires get at night that lets them skill quicker, so I definitely think she is glitched in some way. Also when she started painting she had level 3 from those toddler skill books. Does anyone know why this glitch has happened, and also will the skill challenges still count?

That glitch affects all born in-game vampires at all hours of the day.

It sucks but it's a quirk of the game, not something I can offer a bug-fix for.

Oh thanks Trip, I didn't know it was a universal thing I thought I'd somehow messed up. Thank you :)

Gen 1 witch and spouse vampire had two vampire kids first up.

Can I have further kids between the two of them, so that Gen 2 heir can tutor younger brothers/sisters for that tutoring kids skill challenge, or isn't that permitted?

ETA: I chose at birth that the vampire-boo with brave and neurotic traits rather than the vampire-boo with grumpy and eccentric traits would be the heir. I subsequently aged the grumpy and eccentric vampire-boo to toddlerhood during the daytime hours. I spent the day for him to learn to walk/talk/potty and while mum/dad were sleeping/at work, he spent the time playing with the pegbox. He seemed to skill at the standard rate.

Once the three days passed for the Gen 2 heir and he was aged up to toddler at just after midnight, I sat him down at the xylophone. He raised that skill to level 3 almost instantly.

So I'm wondering whether the time of day at which age up with birthday cake occurs impacts the rate at which vampires born in game skill.

Actually, I just tried skilling the non-heir vampire-offspring on the xylophone, and he was just as quick as his heir brother. So, time of day doesn't impact on it, it would appear. He is skilling on the peg box at the same rate as non-vampires it appears.

They can have further kids if you want them to.

I'm considering letting my 7th generation attend University, he or she would be the first. Has anyone had problems sending a born in game Imaginary Friend to Uni? I've had glitches with IFs and travel. Any input would be appreciated.

If you've had glitches with IFs and travel then university might pose the same threats. I personally have never tried it.

Founder and Spouse tried for children again, no apples/watermelon were eaten, spouse watched kids tv for a little bit, but then tutored Gen 2 heir ... and they had 3 witchboos (two girls and a boy).

So, as none of them will be future heirs, do I get to age them up to toddler and then child pretty well immediately? They are there to be kids tutoring fodder for my Gen 2 heir.

And am I allowed to age up the Romantic Interest of my heir via cake so they become YA at the same time as my heir, so they can then be married and move in, should my heir get that wish?

I know that at least some of the other dynasties is no on that, but I wasn't sure about this one.

What about Age of Instant potions?

You can do whatever you want to a spouse-to-be in terms of aging.

I think the rule is the same in the 4x4 dynasty (because if it isn't...oops). It's a no-no in the Immortal and Decadynasties.
