So for the best friend, can it be a former household member?

@CynKuy: I was gonna say yes until I actually read our own ruleset (shock and horror!) and while perhaps the implication is that "not a household member" = not a current one, I'm also not exactly nice when interpreting rules too. That being said, your heir having a brother who has supernatural kids outside of the house (legal!) and doesn't interact with them enough to be a best friend isn't the worst strategy I could have thought of on the spot. What shall your morals allow?

I had never played a mermaid, at least recently, so I didn't know how labor intensive the lifestate could be.  If my heir is a mermaid can I just let it become human as I don't have a human yet? Let it change before it breeds.

@CynKuy: I swear that it could only be your founder who changed but it's not as clear in the rules...lemme find the ruling or see if I dreamt it long ago instead...

EDIT: settles it

Final Ruling:

Founders have to be in their final life state at the time of the requirement completion.   You can have your founder turned at some point but all heirs have to be in their final life state when born.   That's how you pick an heir because they are a different life state then their parent.

Hi, I decided to have a go at the challenge for old times sake, and it seems the bug with combined rabbitholes messing up opportunities is still going strong. Acceptable to replace the combined school + stadium with two separate ones?

@Lady Orc: Man...still? (sorry I've just been having good luck there for a while!)

Try it out. If you have Town Life Stuff then the "Par Excellence Preparatory School" is the smallest school lot you can place. Not sure about the stadium though.

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll see what school I can fit in. :)

And worst case scenario, I'll just try to do without a stadium, because I suspect fitting one of those in would require me to redesignate an empty lot, if there even is one free that is big enough. The school is the most important anyway, so unless it's allowed to do that, my sims will just have to do without athletics.

You could make a new lot in World Editor though fitting new lots is...an artform to put it lightly!

Yep, I was never very good at it - but as long as the school works out for the next generation, that's the important thing! I'm in Moonlight Falls, so I was actually wondering if that one big empty lot that the game sets up as a Small Park, and according to the rules is allowed to be changed into a Big Park, may be turned into a stadium, assuming I can make it fit in there.

They're big enough to fit, especially the 64x64 ones. While the lot re-designations should be done before you start gameplay, as long as you follow the rest of the rules (PURCHASE THE LOT IN-GAME, place Stadium from "Community Objects" and exit, forfeiting your park to the town) I'll let this one slide...

Rule change to the Edit Town Rules:

A brand new retroactive decision to the forever important Rica's Post:

Quote
Dive Lots -  if it can be placed without cheating, it can be done at the player's own risk.

(yes, wrong dynasty thread, rules are pretty much the same for Edit Town across dynasties though)

So can you potentially supermax diving in a world besides Isla Paradiso? Yeah, sure, go nuts.

Can you retroactively add them to your ongoing dynasty? One time deal if you haven't opened your save since after I posted this (November 23rd, 2020) And again, at your own risk. This is largely untested territory. It might not be worth it anyways and there are a lot of supermaxes out there.

Will you allow the same for WA/University/ITF lots? No, they're technically available no matter what town your dynasty is in, travel is an acceptable caveat to me.

Will you be revisiting other rules? I have some that have bugged me but...one day at a time please. :P
