I didn't think of converting houses!  There are some really nice, big, houses out there with great pool areas.  I can't wait to try one!

O Mi Goodness!  I've got that gorgeous remodel of the Abandoned Nectary that would make such an elegant resort!  All it needs is a tower and a few buffets.  What a great idea to just add to something like Lucky Simorleons or a really big house.  Hmmmm, what about a remodel of the Goth mansion?  That would work too even with the ghosts and graves, but I bet they could be moved to the graveyard.  I'm going to also convert Pier Fun O Won!

As for the Egypt build, Resort wasn't even listed in the list of possible commercial lots, or I just didn't see it.  I'll check and try again.

Resorts are not commercial lots. You can only convert them from private lots you own. You won't find it on the list.

My Crumplebottom remodel is in Moonlight Falls and I made it a Haunted Hotel. The Goth manor in Sunset Valley would be even better for that as it's already quite spooky, larger, and comes with its own ghosts. It's a fun kind of Disney-Haunted-Mansion feel.

I un-spookied it.  Made it a lovely Victorian and it's now a very complete resort.  I might give a go at a haunted look some day but it just pains me to see such a lovely house so creepy.  Guess it goes with the family though.  Here's a pic.  I uploaded it to the swap shop.

Well seems like you like to make everything compact and get a lot of profits from it, i don't like that way i like how Joria did but i'm bad at decoration so i just put the things and that's it, a good hit that i used when playing my first save on IP was buying a non beach lot, it was 64 x 64 and i did a tower of 4 floors full of VIP rooms and suites, the expensive ones for more profit and and also i put the bar adove the gym to save space, in few days the resort was 5 stars and getting like 19.000 from it.

Btw, how many guys play this game and how many are in this forum? Seems like girls play this mostly and guys are very few.

A couple of things I like to do, besides the obvious of having a buffet table for each type of food, is having different shifts for the bars, food stands and reception desks. No one wants to deal with a Sim who's been at the desk for 24 hours.  :P

If you own the Lucky Simoleons Casino from the Store, it is easy to convert it into a resort.  I removed the three parking spaces from the front and put the Eco Modern Tower there.  The guests  didn't seem interested in gambling until about 10:00pm.  It was a lot of fun.  I want to try converting the Serenity Retreat Spa next.

I converted the Serenity Retreat spa!  I didn't make it into a huge resort, but I like the way it turned out!

I've tried that on a few of the resorts I've built and it didn't turn out too well.  I decided to make 3 of each service object... food stands, bars, front counters and set them all on a different shift, so only one is open of each object per shift.  What ended up happening is clusters of people standing around blocking doors and paths.  I ended up having to switch back to 1 of each service object, and to keep complaints from coming in, I had to keep them on 24/7... but since they don't appear to need sleep, food or showers, as unrealistic as it is, I left them there.

Attempting to stack towers one floor above each other failed for me, due to the intersecting object issue.  I was unable to stack 2 Eco Towers above each other, yet I was able to stack 2 of the Beach Resort Tower's on top of each other.  Cover the ground floor with Beach Resort Towers, then create a floor above them.  You will be able to create an equal number of Beach Resort Towers above them.  Then, just place all amenities underground.

In the space that an Eco Tower takes up, providing, at full upgrade, a capacity of only 70... I was able to stack 4 Beach Resort Towers, providing a capacity of 160.

If you're having a problem with Roaches at Hobart's Hideaway, I found a solution totally by accident while I was in China & tinkering with the "buydebug on" cheat enabled and learning about all of the Spawners that can be placed. Go to Hobart's Hideaway ( if you own it). There are 10 Roach Spawn Boxes underneath the Resort. You need a pool or hot tub installed on the lot so you can use page down to have access like going down to a basement. If you have a basement or pool installed around one or more of the spawn boxes, You won't be able to see them. Make sure "buydebug on" is enabled and "moveObjects on" or you won't be able to see them or grab them. I used the "page down" button, grabbed one then used the "page up" button to get them all, one by one to the top on land. Moved them all to the right of the lot and placed them. The maintenance crew stomped some of them then I moved the rest as far as I could out to the farthest right corner of the lot under the water so they couldn't bother anyone. 2 of the crew swam out, was on top of the water trying to stomp them ( it was funny) ;D. They finally disappeared and my resort went to 5 stars and It unlocked an uncharted Island called "No Trouble Atoll" with a 60x60 lot with more places to place smaller pieces of land ( in Edit Town Mode) for another Resort or whatever you want. I couldn't delete them so I just put them under water

I'm trying to run a resort and was wondering how many 5 star ratings do you need for the resort as a whole to go up to 5 stars? Currently, I have 3 individual 5 star ratings and 4 1/2 stars for the whole resort.
