Long Time, No Crayons

We come back to the Crayola family after a very, very long break to find Cerise standing outside a random house. You'd be forgiven for thinking my file had gone weird, but no, she's here for a reason.

Meet Dante, Jazz's spouse.

(For those of you who've just joined us, or who've understandably forgotten what on earth is going on in this story while it's been away, Cerise is the human founder of this Life States dynasty. She married Pappy Wolff, and produced two normal daughters, Almond and Bittersweet, and a wolf daughter, Jazzberry Jam. Jazz is therefore our generation two heir and is currently in the teenage stage.)

I'm not sure how the conversation went. Perhaps something like:

Cerise: Hey, want to marry my daughter? She's only a teenager so she can't ask you herself.

Dante: Yeah cool. This isn't creepy and weird at all.

As per the rules he doesn't move in yet, but I wanted to befriend him so he didn't leave town. Like Jazz's original intended spouse did.

Not only is setting your teenage daughter up with a much older vampire a bit of dodgy parenting, Cerise also allows her daughters unsupervised access to explosives.

Requirements complete, it's time for our heir to enter her young adulthood. It'll now be slightly less creepy she's been set up with Dante.

She's excited about it.

That hair has got to go.

With her hat back on, she looks so much better. A lot like Pappy, but better.

She heads over to meet her to-be-betrothed, and talks about… shoes? Again I can see the conversation:

Jazz: My mum says we're going to get married, but I hate wearing shoes so I don't want a fancy wedding.

Dante: Still weird.

But seeing as the game has moved him and his housemate into a much smaller and much less nice house than when we last saw him, he agrees to at least move in.

I think they'll make a pretty good couple.

Ah. This wasn't the plan.

Step away from Argus, Jazz. He's a wolf, so you can't marry him. Even though you're right that he's more attractive and has less annoying traits than Dante.

Go and do some running to distract yourself.

Her skills are going to be athletics and handiness. I didn't let her start either as a teen so she'd level up quicker in the firefighter career, which she's now joined.

At home, Bittersweet and Almond age up alone. I've really neglected these two while focusing on Jazz. Sorry girls.

I haven't even got a photo of Almond at all in this chapter. Sorry Almond.

The next day, Jazz does a bit of toilet fixing to level up in her career.

And goes home to snog the Evil vampire that's now sleeping in her bed.

Unfortunately her proposal is declined.

Bashing the cooker is obviously the best way to get over a refused proposal, while you regroup and try to work out why he refused you. Jazz would recommend it to anyone going through tough emotional times.

Is it because he has commitment issues?

Is it because she smells of toilet still?

Is it because he barely knows her?

Or is it because she's somehow romantically linked with his ex-housemate?

I can see how any or all of those would be an issue…

She breaks it off with Argus. And takes a shower.

Not at the same time, though.

And where is Cerise while two of her daughters are becoming young adults and the other is having a romantic crisis? She's standing in someone's house staring at their artwork, that's where she is. Responsible parenting once again.

I get that the virtual world can be more exciting, love, but shouldn't you be with your kids?

Dante better behave, because I don't know what other male vampires there are in town! And I want only the best for Jazz.

Lol!  I love Cerise XD Her parenting skills notwithstanding... she's certainly amusing!  Also, welcome back!  And congrats on your little one!  I didn't get a chance to congratulate you before ^^

Awesome update. Really, it was fun to read and I really like the sense of humor in this dynasty story. Jazz, you had some bad luck. But we know you will find your perfect slave um, husband in time:D. Looking forward for next update.

P.S. And what is Cherise doing in someone's house by playing virtual googles!

Just Tristan Van Gould. I initially wanted Dayvid Musgrave, in the hope his darker skin tone would give a different colour baby than pink, but he seemed to have disappeared completely from town before I could befriend him.

Thanks :) Her parenting skills are awful. I would say it's a good job her kids have me as a watcher, but I've neglected two out of three of them as well!

I'm glad we're back too! Curse that Commitment Issues trait. Who could refuse Jazz? Things WILL work out, there's no other option (especially now I've gone and moved him in…).

Thanks, such lovely comments :) I feel better for my spouses in this dynasty than the immortal one, less need to become slaves. My poor immortal dynasty spouses.

And I have absolutely no idea. I turn round to check on someone else, and there she is using them when I came back. The sims who own the house were all in other rooms, just minding their own business and ignoring the crazy woman on the goggles.

Who did you want Jazz to marry, before he slipped out of your reach by moving towns?

Dayvid Musgrave, the vegetarian vampire who lives with Branch Timberly. He hates kids, but at least he's not Evil and has no Commitment Issues. And he's got some interesting genetics.

Two Down

With Jazz making her supernatural bestie, Peanut Ivy, she's almost done her requirements. All that's left is a spouse, a bit of upgrading, and a few miles on the treadmill.

Although first she needs to fix the stereo, or she won't be able to have any music with her finishing-all-the-requirements-in-an-update-and-a-half montage.

Imagine something like Eye of the Tiger playing.

Eye of the Werewolf, maybe.

DUM. Dum dum dum, dum dum dum, duuuummmmm.

DUM. Dum dum dum, dum dum dum, duuuummmmm.

Yeah, okay, enough of that.

I thought about getting Jazz to propose again, and again, and see how long it took Dante to accept. But then the impatient part of me took over and I just got Mr Commitment Issues to pop the question himself.

Despite the speechbubble over his head giving it away, Jazz seems totally oblivious to what he's up to.

I've never understood why their finger sparkles when there's nothing actually on it. It's like a little vortex has opened up on her ring finger.

The important thing here, however, is not that but is that she's accepted his proposal. This wedding is on.

I don't have a picture of the wedding. Oops.

First comes love, then comes marriage...

...then comes puking into the toilet. Ahh, I remember this stage of pregnancy well.

However, I don't remember the stage of pregnancy where it's considered safe to singe yourself with electrical equipment and then cook dinner in your electrocuted underwear. Maybe I missed that memo.

Perhaps it's different for Sims.

Pregnancy: confirmed.

Why she insisted on doing the twirl in front of a window, I don't know. Have some consideration for those of us who're trying to take screenshots, Jazz. It makes it a lot harder.

Seeing as she's now banned from fixing things (no electrocuted babies here) and she's too fat to fit on the treadmill, Jazz resorts to watching terrible films and re-runs of the Big Bang Theory. Another stage of pregnancy I remember well.

And the birth.

Will we get a heir?

Will she need an epidural?

I make it a no for both of those questions. Jazz may have a different opinion about the second, but nobody can deny that we have a lovely pair of twin girls who are unfortunately both werewolves.

I have no idea which twin is pictured, but meet Apricot and Sepia.

They're getting aged up instantly.

Here's Sepia, with her mum's hair and (although you can't see it) her face too. Those Pappy genes are strong.

And Apricot. Yes, they're being aged up again! I'm not dealing with toddlers unless I have to in a dynasty.

We'd better get a brightly-coloured nooboo next because I'm starting to run out of pale brown Crayola crayon colours to name these non-bright girls after.

And because both girls are werewolves, we need more nooboos.

Dante is happy to oblige.

While waiting for her second pregnancy to show, Jazz launches her attempt to become a world-famous sports star. The question I have about the sports career is what sport even is it? It's obviously a team game, else Jazz wouldn't have the teammates metric, but what team game? Basketball, football, rugby, ultimate frisbee?

I'm going to say it's ultimate frisbee.

Jazzberry Jam Crayola, the world's first Olympic gold medalist in ultimate frisbee.

(It's not an Olympic sport, yet. It will be.)

But that dream will have to be put on hold, because another nooboo is on it's way.

And also because the next Olympics isn't until 2016, but yeah.

Little Sepia wants to take after her mum. Isn't that cute!

Sepia: Nope, just trying to get some attention from her. Or Dad. Or Grandma. Or anyone.

My thought would be baseball for what sport they play, considering that some of the uniforms have baseball caps. But Ultimate Frisbee sounds more fun. :P

Fingers crossed for an heir!

Ultimate Frisbee should definitely be an Olympic sport, something I would not suck so bad at(atleast I hope so) ;)
Poor neglected twins, but its a dynasty after all. Fingers crossed for colorful and vampiric nooboos!

Glad to see that you made Dante propose Dante reconsidered his decision not to marry Jazz.  Fingers crossed for an heir this time  :)

That'd make more sense. I don't know anything about baseball, so I didn't even think of that! Didn't know anything about Ultimate Frisbee until I looked it up on Wikipedia when writing this chapter either, though.

Yep. Somehow I don't seem to manage to focus on anyone but my current heir in a dynasty, but in any other game file I can focus on seven or eight sims no problems!

Aha, I bet I'd be bad even at Ultimate Frisbee. My brother-in-law and I managed to lose a frisbee in my mum's garden last week.

Glad to see that you made Dante propose Dante reconsidered his decision not to marry Jazz.  Fingers crossed for an heir this time  :)

That's what I love about the sims. If you can't get a sim to react the way you want, switch to controlling them!
