Chapter 10 – Milestones

We all knew this was going to happen: Dorian finally fulfilled his wish to steal candy from a baby.

Jocasta soon found something to console herself with.

Sheep: (The big pink thing is going “eeee!” Not a good sign.)

Jocasta: Wuv you, sheepie!

Sheep: (Then again, there are worse things than being hugged.)

Dorian has found another evil thing to do – he’s taken up poker. Luckily for the family, his losses are offset by the tiberium he finds when breaking space rocks. (It also helps that no one else in Sunset Valley knows how to play poker.)

Justice has decided to retire. Apparently this is very pleasing to yetis.

Bebe, unfortunately, has to wait a little longer before she can retire. In fact, she’s been demoted. She screwed up her vaccination session badly because she was trying to convince people to vote for Miraj Alvi when she should have been vaccinating them. And then the opportunity was taken away from her when Tamara Donner died.

But she’s made up for her mistake by holding a great medical clinic in the graveyard. Bebe chose that site so that only the people who were really sick would show up.

Simis had his birthday.

It looks like he’s inherited Bella’s features and Gustav’s (and Bebe’s) coloring.

Gustav went to China and finally achieved his level 3 visa. He also picked up a fair amount of platinum, palladium, and mercury to be smelted.

When he returned, he spent some time teaching Jocasta how to talk.

Gustav: Coffee will put you right to sleep so don’t drink it if you’re trying to stay up late.

Jocasta: Sleep sheep!

Soon after learning how to talk, Jocasta had her birthday.

She’s picked out everyday, formal, and athletic clothes in her favorite color.

Besides being good and absent-minded, Jocasta can’t stand art.

Hm, Jocasta is a cutie! Sorry if this was already clarified, but are the firstborns heir or are you just going with the flow and picking whomever? I'm thinking it's firstborns, but I just want to be sure.

Also, Dorian only ever did one thing mildly evil - stealing candy, oh! And not paying child support for his kid, but in the Sims we all know which is the greater evil!  ;) Haha, I actually caught a picture of that same sheep in my Reaper's game, it made me think of you haha, that poor sheep, though no, hugs definitely aren't bad. :)

Firstborns are the heirs -- though it's tempting sometimes to change that.

Jocasta sure is cute.  I think children's hugs are the therapy that sheep needs.  ;)

Interesting rule changes!  I love how Justice has not adapted to not having all the luxuries of all the EP's.  Those bits of dialogue were too funny.  And the sheep is priceless.  It was nice to see him finally get some love with Jo giving him a big hug :)

Chapter 11 – Gustav’s Excellent Adventures

Gustav has been having difficulty getting his visa points. China required 3 trips, and when he went to France with Bella, she was able to get adventures when he wasn’t. So Gustav decided to go to Egypt all by himself.

The first adventure Gustav received was a tour of the tombs for the Department of Tourism’s new brochure. Gustav figured people had already seen plenty of pictures of the pyramids and the Sphinx, so he just took this one of the Temple of Karnak.

His next task was to become an agent of Morcu. Before getting the papers out of the treasure chest, he put his athletic skills to work on opening a hidden door.

Gustav’s last task was to take a picture of a floor trap. Someone had told him there was one in the Sand Pyramid. While he was there, Gustav opened a sarcophagus and found a relic.

Gustav also got involved with a pair of young lovers. After running errands for them, he was quite relieved when he got his third visa point and was able to leave.

Upon returning home, he found that Dorian had finished the first half of his lifetime wish by reaching the highest level of martial arts.

Dorian had also found some more tiberium.

He went over to Kylee’s house to spend some quality time with Aaron. Aaron has become hot-headed, as well as being a couch potato and virtuoso.

Bebe has been taking over the job of teaching little Simis how to walk.

She’s also been teaching him proper dental hygiene.

With two-thirds of his visas acquired, Gustav decided to go back to France. He booked a 6-day trip, figuring that would give him plenty of time to pick up the last visa point, which was already halfway completed. He figured wrong. While he waited for someone in France to require his services, Gustav went hunting for relics. He did some excavation.

He explored a tomb near one that he had already searched.

He checked out another sarcophagus.

This one had an occupant.

Gustav waited four days before he got a phone call – someone wanted a bottle of wine and then a meal. Then he had to wait another two days until someone else reported hearing funny noises in the museum. Gustav had to return home before he could investigate, but he came back to France as soon as possible. It was a relief to complete his lifetime wish at last (and before Dorian, too! -- not that they're competitive or anything).

Jocasta gave her little brother his last bottle.

A few hours later it was time for Simis to have his birthday.

He is friendly now, in addition to being absent-minded and a heavy sleeper.

(Note: Seasoned Traveler is very lucrative in terms of happiness points. Besides 60,000 for completing the wish, there’s a possibility that your sim will get the wish to reach level 1 visa for 1500 points and level 3 for 15,000. The Adventure Boards do quit working occasionally, but eventually your sim may get a phone call. I had Gustav make friends with the locals in France, which may have helped.)

Congrats on completing your LTW, Gustav! Getting a level 3 visa can be tricky sometimes when there seem to be no opportunities coming. And, on another note, Simis aged up to be quite cute. Can't wait to see how he turns out as he grows up.

Malley, I think Simis is going to look like Bella but with Gustav's coloring.

I agree.  He does seem to have Bella's features.  Simis is a cutie either way :)

Chapter 12 – Learning Lessons

Jocasta became a teenager. Her party was so exciting that even the gnome Little Leon had to run and see what was happening.

She picked up the grumpy trait and decided to wear her hair in a simple style so that it wouldn’t annoy her if she was already having a bad day. Besides, she’s pretty enough that it doesn’t matter how she wears her hair.

This is her wardrobe, but she likes her formal dress so much that it seems to have become her everyday wear, too.

Jocasta has been learning Newton’s law of gravity. What goes up…

…must come down.

Bebe has learned this week that even though the hospital administration says that they value community clinics, she really would be much better off if she didn’t do them. After treating Malcolm Landgraab and others for their colds and cases of Llama Tail, she returned to work to discover that she was in danger of being demoted again for missing work.

Dorian and Justice have been learning how to fleece innocent Sims like Tori Kimura play poker. The Dealer spits cards out of its mouth, which would be unsanitary if it weren’t a Simbot.

Dorian practiced his poker face before the game started.

Gustav has set up his collection of relics. These all come from his explorations and excavations – he didn’t buy any of them.

He’s becoming quite a talented, if unusual, painter.

With qualities like absent-mindedness and grumpiness, Jocasta is going to take up gardening. Plants won’t sue you if you forget something, and they can have a calming effect if you’re in a bad mood.

Oh, I like Gustav's paintings - especially the one on the left. It looks really cool.

I'm not generally one who likes abstracts but I agree.  But doesn't Jocasta look like a mini Bella.  Great update Marian!  ;D
