You actually care about the fact that the thing doesn't work, and you spend more time trying to work around bugs/glitches than actually playing the game.

After 10 years of TS1/2/3, I think it's time we moved on ...  :'(

Well, like Naga said, I'm not gonna give up my sims! I never played 1 or 2 so I think I'm alright, I still got many many years of sims ahead of me!  ;D

I played Sims Safari, Sim Town, Sim City, Sim Park and all those games as a kid, but I never played The Sims 1 or 2.
I'm so glad I came across Sims 3 though!

And I agree with you - I can't move on from the Sims 3 either hahaha.

You gotta try TS1 and TS2. For TS1, I recommend buying the full package, with all expansions. You'll find the game very limited, but you'll get the essence of how everything was. If possible, install 1 expansion at a time, and explore it's content to the maximum. For TS2, I greatly recommend Pets, but you may try other expansions too. It's good to see how much the game improved 1-2 and then compare 2-3, and wait for the re-launch of old expansions.

Is it 10 years already? And I'm 22... that means I've spent pretty much half a life in Sunset Valley  ;D.

Oh and Naga's right... you should try sims 1 and 2.  Old expansion packs were really cool actually... specially Pets and Seasons which were huge revolutions in the game I think.

Well in order for me to play 1 and 2 with the EP's, I would have to buy them, and considering how much I've already spent on 3, I definitely can't afford 1 and 2!!

The Sims 1 Complete Collection is quite cheap, really. Well, I guess it depends on where you live. Still worth getting, in my opinion.

I just looked it up on Amazon, and it's $199.99. I probably have spent more on 3 if you consider I plan on buying all the EP's as they come out, but still that's too much for me. Well, for 3 it's not but I'm seriously addicted to 3!  ;D

Hmmm ... $199, eh?  There must be a market for my full set of TS1 and TS2, together with the Prima manuals.   ;D
If they worked on a Mac, I'd be reverting to TS2 for sure.

  • You keep sending your sims to the toilet and then realize that you are the one who needs to go.
  • You watch closely as your sim prepares a grilled cheese sandwhich and want to eat it.
  • You hear yourself say "No, she does not need to go into the crib!"
  • You hum "Oh Where is My Mummy" off-key in the shower exactly the way your sim sings it.
  • You say goodbye to your husband with "Soon-soon"
  • When you're hungry you get your husband's attention with "Padaboo?!" and motion to your mouth.

EDIT:  I have also thought the game time is real!  Glad I'm not alone.
