I really should have followed the old saying, "if something's not broken, don't fix it", because just last month I bought this computer to play the sims 3 and only that, and back then the GeForce GT 730 driver that came pre-installed was working perfectly with my game. No lags, settings were medium (in the Sims 3 game), and the game flowed smoothly with no lags or stuttering whatsoever.
Now, on the 21st, I saw an update 372.90 was available for drivers, and so I thought, why not? And installed it... As soon as I did, when I restarted my game, I immediately noticed that my graphics settings and overall game setting changed back to default, (for ex, I had aging off, and after the update aging was back on), every so often, there would be tiny little lags in my sims' movements. I didn't like what the new driver was doing, so I went to device manager and display adapters (it showed Geforce GT 730), and rolled backed to the previous driver I had, which came with the desktop I bought last month.
That seemed to have fixed the issue, and I was glad. But then, the small stuttering returned, and I tried to adjust the game settings from medium to low, though it didn't do much. Next, I tried to check if the game was even detecting my graphics card, and had to make some changes so that it said [found: 1, matched: 1) like in this thread:
http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php?topic=26753.msg446248#msg446248.
It still didn't work, and somehow the stuttering has turned into lagging, as every few seconds, there would be a lag. It's not just the sims' themselves now, but the whole game. I then read that apparently there were other components like the nvidia 3d hd controller driver and the hd audio driver that I didn't necessarily have to install along with the update, so I uninstalled those and restarted. I then tried to install a later but not current version of the driver again, one that I read didn't have any stuttering issues, which was 368.81. Still no luck and the game is still lagging so bad.
I'm so depressed over this and I would really appreciate some help to fix this issue to get my game running back to the smooth way it ran before. I was so pleased with how smoothly everything ran and now I'm just blaming myself and wishing that I never touched that update then none of this would've happened.
I'm just not sure what to do. Everything was absolutely fine with the Nvidia driver that came along when I bought this desktop, and now because I tried to update it, it's causing awful lag that ruins the game experience. I recently removed the majority of the CC I had as well as store content, and the lag still happens, even after I have rolled back the driver to the one before I updated. I have a copy of the Sims folder from my documents saved, in case I need to uninstall and reinstall, but I don't even know where to begin to check for where the issue is coming from.

01.) Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.4GHz 3.41 GHz
02.) Windows 10
03.) Mods (Yes 17) and CC (77, most from the Store), just 'no autonomous...' mods and I have never had any issues with them before the driver update. I don't think it's the mods
04.) Error message/code given? (No error message...just lagging every few seconds during gameplay.)
05.) LN, UL and High end Loft
06.) I haven't uninstalled the game yet because I still feel like it's the driver issue, not the game's fault itself, but I don't know at this point anymore.
07.) After installing the update for the driver to the new version 372.9 for windows 10 64 bit, I reopened the game and that's when I noticed the settings changed and the minor lagging started (now it's worse lagging)
08.) Current version is 1.69.43.02417
