A New Version of Origin is Ready

Origin has been prompting me to update to the latest Origin version for the past month.
Even after clicking "Restart" to update, though, my Origin (which should be auto-updating) doesn't update.

I've just been ignoring this issue until today, but I suddenly became unable to repair my game with Origin generating "Submit error report" messages for every darn file.
This message is not so much a plea for help as a shout-out to MrsFlynn.

Thanks to your great instructions on how to uninstall/reinstall my Origin client, I finally got rid of the "New version of Origin" prompt and am able to repair my game files.

Hello,
I am having the same issue as the user oshizu had and claims that MrsFlynn helped them solve.
Origin prompts me to restart to update Origin but it doesn't work, and I receive an error message when I try to update Sims 4.
Could you please tell me how to fix the issue, which apparently consists in unistalling and reinstalling Origin properly and hopefully without loosing progress in my games?

Your game and games saves will be fine if you uninstall/reinstall Origin. They are both installed in their own folders.

However, if you're concerned about that, just move your Sims 4 folder to your desktop first and move it back when the reinstall is complete.
