My Sims User Folder or Install Files are Missing?If by chance your user files or install files have gone missing, you may need to first check to make sure you've installed the game correctly.
If the user files get mixed up with the install files. This will cause problems and the game will need to be reinstalled.
If the game is installed correctly, navigate to the folders below to see if you can find your files. If they aren't there. You may need to search your computer for these folders to see where the path takes you.
----> Click Start, and in the search bar the comes up Search for Sims 3 or 4.
User files should be located here:
--
C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3
C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
==
Game install files should be located here: (by default)
--
Sims 4 -
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4 (64-bit - Windows)
Sims 3 -
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 3 (64-bit - Windows)

The Original Disc Version - pre 2012 version
C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 (64-bit - Windows)
** The newer disc versions may default install to Origin Games.
If your user files aren't in the \Documents\Electronic Arts\ (Sims 3 or 4) folder, move them from where you found them into one of those folders. As that is where the game saves the user files by default. If they aren't in the \Documents\Electronic Arts\ (Sims 3 or 4) folder the game will not recognize them.
