Everytime i load my The Sims 3 it always loads after a while but this time i tried to load it up and fully load it just stopped and never happened.

I haven't played on the console for maybe 6 years, but as I recall I had problems with both loading and saving after I'd been playing the same family for more than a couple of generations. Is this an older file?
