Butterflies Spawning

Hi, I'm not sure where to put this, but my sim has a wish to catch a butterfly during a full moon. First of all, are there any butterflies that spawn at night? Secondly, do fireflies, which do spawn at night count as "butterflies?" Thanks!

Jumped in-game to check on this. It doesn't look like butterflies spawn at night. However, they might (?) in Summer. I am in winter in my game.

There are fireflies, but I don't think they count as butterflies.

I was wondering b/c if there is a wish for it, it must be possible. I read that there is a wil o wisp. I might try that one and see if it works. I'm on a tropical island right now (Midnight Sun challenge) and there is no winter. I'll keep you posted on what I find if I find anything.

Yes, please do. I'm curious as to if that's really possible. I would think so if they made a wish for it.

Have you tried during the day when it's registering as a full moon?

I've been trying, but no luck yet. I've read that it's pretty rare. I also read that one of the earlier patches, I don't remember which one broke it. Because of the challenge that I'm currently doing, there is no room to place multiple spawners.
