My first encounter was actually in elementary school in third grade when I was 8-9 years old. It was computer day at school and it was SimTown. I did play the original Sims a few times, at my cousin's place. Years later, I played Sims 2 with my cousin who's 8 months younger than me, her boyfriend of 6 years now, his younger brother who has autism, and my twin cousins who are now 14 where I first discovered aliens. The first time I actually had home access to a Sims game was Sims 3. So I've been a longtime (partime) Simmer at friends and families' houses mostly on the console, but my first real computer experience with Sims was Sims 3.

My first Sims encounter was when I played The Sims 2: Double Deluxe in 2007. I thought I had been playing for a few minutes, but when I looked up at the clock, I had been playing for 4 hours.  ::)

I bought The Sims 3 vanilla in 2009, and I bought all the expansions up to Generations earlier this year.

My first encounter with sims was one day in 2009, I was on youtube watching youtube videos. One of the videos I saw said made with the sims 2, and curious me, wanting to know what on earth sims was, googled it. It said it was a computer game and the new game, the Sims 3 had just came out so I desided to go out and buy it. I've been hooked ever since.

My first encounter with The Sims was when I was in elementary school. Third or fourth grade, maybe? My aunt gave me her copy of the very first Sims base game, and I've been hooked on Sims ever since!

My first encounter with with the Sims I played the Pleasant family for what seemed like years on end. It seems strange now to play a family that never aged and it might just be my memory but I am sure that playing the original Sims was harder then it is now. Keeping everyone happy and getting job promotions was very difficult.

My cousin introduced me to The Sims 1 when I was 7-8. It bored me, but after 4 years I got Sims 2, and just loved it.

About 5 years ago, my sister's friend came over and we played Sims 1. I really liked it, and then I forgot about it.
Bunch of years later, I get Sims 3!

I woke up one morning about eight or nine months ago (it was just after the release of LN, I think), and decided to get the TS3 with virtually no prior knowledge about it. Just like that, with no planning or anything (I'm not even sure where the idea came from to be honest, I'd probably seen the game whilst out shopping). I've always loved simulation games, but my only experience was with the GBA version of SimCity, and the Playstation version of Theme Hospital, both when I was much younger.

The very same day I had my very own copy of TS3, and had absolutely no idea what I was doing with it. I have a insane fear of instruction booklets so I just jumped straight into the game (which in hindsight was a huge mistake, I nearly gave up on it because I was so confused!) and muddled my way through. After playing for a few days, I desperately needed some more information, and that's when I found the guide!

I've never looked back since, best random decision of my life! ;D

I've always loved simulation games.  My dad had various ones such as trainz, but I was more interested in landscaping and creating towns than the actual trains and tracks.  I bought The Sims around 2003-2004, I can't remember why.  I was instantly hooked and when my best friend came over, we'd play it together.  When The Sims 2 came out, my friend bought it and I was soo jealous of her, but my parents wouldn't let me buy it.  So when I went over to her place to play this newer version, and I continued to pay the 1st one until my computer died with the disk inside and then we moved house and who knows what happened to the cd and my computer (saddest moment in my life :P).   I also played SimCity, but I wasn't very good at that game.  Then I somehow heard The Sims 3 was going to come out, so I began to fuel my obsession by reading about the Sims 3 (which is how I found this site).  Then a couple weeks ago I convinced my parents to buy the sims 3!  I'm disappointed that I can't update it, patch it or download stuff from online (e.g. create a world) because of the tiny amount of bandwidth I'm allowed and the tiny amount of space in my mum's computer (which I use cause my computer doesn't have the requirements for the game), but I'm just as hooked to The Sims 3 (vanilla) as I was with The Sims 1 with all the expansion packs.  You can probably tell I'm quite an obsessive person, especially when it comes to the Sims :D

I got the first Sims game with a gaming magazine I was subscribing to. I think it was 1999. I had quite a lot of fun with it. But it was dampered somewhat that my computer could just barely run it. I then didn't play it for many years until this year when I got Sims 3 and then started to get expansionpacks. In the meantime I played some SimCity.

How I begun...

When I was in about 1st grade (so 5-6 years ago) my best friend was talking to me about a games called "Sims" that her big brother played. It sounded really fun, with the school bus to nowhere and genies and what not. She barely knew how to play, though, and she got sad when a her kid went into a bus and disappeared (sent to military school, as I found out recently) but I forgot about the game after that until 2008.

In 2008, I got onto YouTube and I was browsing when I saw stuff for Sims 2. I thought "Hey, I remember this!" and I clicked on it. It looked so cool, and for a few months I wanted it really bad. I had Sim City 4 (which I lost the disk for after new computer) but I had no idea they had come out with a new Sims game. One day, I asked for it, and got it! I got Pets, Bon Voyage, Free Time, and Open for Business. I played every day and really got into the knack of things.

Several weeks after Sims 3 launched (I had heard of it weeks before, but I stuck with Sims 2) I was called into the living room and Sims 3 was loading up, and I screamed. I skipped the manual, knowing how to play Sims 2, I thought it would be the same as Sims 3. I was amazed by the graphics, and how different yet the same the two games were. I have every EP (no SP though) but I will most likely not get Sims 4. I just love Sims 3 too much. Unfortunately, I can't play sims 2 anymore as I lost the disk after I got a new computer.

Mine, hmm. I was 8 years old when I first heard it. I heard about SimCity, it didn't appeal to me, just building? Nah not my type of game. I thought. A few weeks after that my cousin (who lived here, I didn't at the time) sended me The Sims 1. I was so excited! I installed it on my computer, which I was lucky to have, I instantly fell in love with the game. I talked about the game to my friends and one of them was able to get her hands on one. We would talk about for the next 2 years, come over to each other houses ( we were 8 people) and play, have late night sleep overs. Then proptly after the Sims 2 was out I got it in the mail. I was amazed how it had changed also. I skipped the manual because I thought it was similar. My pregnant sim died super fast, I just couldn't keep her mood nice, but I got the hang of it. Soon I got University and Pets, I had the time of my life with that! I moved here, and I brought my games. (I wouldn't let them go!) When I got to the U.S I was over at Target for the first time and I was looking through the pets section, and I swear I heard the little angles singing and The Sims 3 was the only thing in the store I saw at that moment. I begged my dad for it (literally!), it was on a very nice special for 14.99. I installed it as soon as I got home. I got WA the day it came out and then a few weeks later a new laptop. I've gotten every EP & SP ever since. I agree, I probably won't get Sims 4, I have to admit I've spent alot of money buying this games, but the price is worth it. Every penny.
