Yeah, I pretty much only use MM to get rid of the negative moodlet after a family member dies.

Do vacation homes appreciate in value over time? If gen 1 buys a vacation home will it be worth a lot more by gen 10?

If they are like regular houses, they will depreciate.  My houses go up in value because I'm always adding things and redecorating.

I didn't realize that, having lived in Southern California my whole life.  :P   So Sim real estate is only an investment if it pays you weekly, I guess.

Those tiny China houses just scream for basements! *off to look up that tutorial about basements under foundations*

Right.  We found this out playing the House Hunter's challenge.  I never knew it until I played that challenge earlier this year.

I am having trouble finding a spouse for my new founder. I always seem to end up with Christopher Steele and I'd like to try someone else out.
She did have her eye on Leighton Sekemento but he went and got in a relationship with Holly Alto.
So I am at a loss there seems to be a definite lack of suitable male talent

I agree Rachel, and I don't have a great answer for you.  That's the exact reason why I usually start with a male founder because there are a bunch of single females to choose from.

It feels like the only option is to either age up a teen Sim which feel kinda weird or break up a relationship.
I think my poor Sim has hit rock bottom relationship wise I gave up the fight to find a spouse that was not Christopher Steel and got her to flirt with him all was going fine until she moved in for a kiss. She was rejected by Christopher Steel oh the humiliation.

I hate that when that happens.  I too, start with a male.  Especially with this new dynasty, IMO, Agnes is about the only way to go.  I had 107,000 simoleons to start with and that made a nice house, plus she has 8 painting points, so she can paint masterpieces and in no time, and can already paint portraits.  I guess I am the opposite of some of you guys, I can't live outside, have to have walls, lol, but that is me. :D

There's Stiles McGraw, the Frio brothers, Cyclone Sword.  I think they're all single at the start of the game.

I've heard that Ethan Bunch will age up soon, and he makes a good mate.

I think he's the hot headed one.  Or something like that.  Is he the father of the Ursine kids?

The only trait i recall him having is mean spirited. I left my Sim talking to him at a party once then went (in real life to get a cuppa) forgot to pause my game came back and she was fighting with him. I did think it was maybe her traits that were putting the men off but her traits are pretty boring. Green thumb Natural cook flirt neat and handy.  My former founder who was an insane evil genius who liked to cook and garden did so much better in the romance stakes.
Back to my current founder she is five days from coming an adult and still no spouse she even tried chatting up Thornton Wolf even though he has a wife and dislikes children.
Ugh finding my own husband was easier then this

I have the traits for the Sims in Riverview and Sunset Valley.  Jared Frio is listed as mean spirited.  I actually have no problem breaking up marriages of Sims.  LOL  I had my last Dynasty Sim marry Geoffrey Landgraab for his money (it worked out well) and then when he died she married Nick Alto for his money.  He is also listed as mean-spirited but he stayed so busy that it never was a problem.  Those two were surprisingly easy to get away from their families.
