Hello. I'm new to the forum and this is my first post.  I've been jumping thread to thread and I'm a little confused. I've been planning to post my legacy but not so sure if it does count as a legacy. Since I'm already 4 generations down. And doesn't strictly follow legacy challenge to word. Could I post under Legacy with my current generation and work on flashbacks instead?

*edited to give thanks.

Thank you!
At the end of the day, Life should ask you, "Do you want to save changes?"

How the misc-tery continues:
I, Iridessa: 3rd [What happens at home]

Why not try a misc-stery?
Blood of the Mayfair: 32nd [Hail Rain and Sunshine]

or a Reincarnation Project:
Hawke Revival: 26th [Hale Bonding]

Welcome to our Forum.

If it's based on Pinstar's legacy rules from the official Sims 3 forum, you may post it on the Legacy Board even if you make some changes to the rules.  However, if you've changed the rules to the point that it would not be recognizable as a legacy story, it should go on the Miscellaneous Stories board.  And, yes, it's fine to start your story with the 4th generation and use flashbacks.

I have a question, and I apologize if this has been hashed somewhere else.  But could I use a sim I've already played to start a legacy?  Like use the same sim from the Runaway Teen Challenge and when they age up start the Legacy?  Would that be cheating since they might have skills or lifetime rewards, etc?  Or would it be better to just save the sim in CAS and start a new game?  According to official rules, no bending.

I'm just curious.  I've been thinking about starting a legacy challenge (the Dynasty Challenge seems to hard for my current simming level :P) and am currently playing a teen I like.

Why not? While I can't think of many people nowadays that follow legacy rules more in-depth than "play for ten generations," I don't think it was a restriction in the rules either.

I think the whole "start a new Sim from scratch" idea was from our Dynasties.  I don't recall it being a requirement for legacies.

Officially,

Quote
You may use an existing game file, but your Legacy family must immediately become the “Active Household” and not cease to be active for the duration of the challenge.

So yes. :)

Awesome!  Thanks everyone for answering!

I've started a Legacy with a different sim, to kind of get used to the play style.  It's pretty fun and not as scarily hard as I thought it would be, but I'm only on Gen1.

I would really love to read some legacy stories that don't have huge blocks of text and have nice pictures. I recommend zooming in and finding different angles. Just snapping pictures from afar at the same angle repeatedly does not make for an interesting read. I think of these stories like graphic novels. The pictures should be the main thing that draws the eye and the text should be short and sweet, explaining each picture simply. I'm just sharing this suggestion because we have a lot of good writers who can't hold my interest long due to poor picture taking and huge chunks of text.

You'll never get huge chunks of text from me. You'll barely get any text at all.
