Oh yes! I'm sorry, I misread the thread title.

No worries.

But yeah, life state-changing elixirs/easy life state changers (like the Mermaid Kelp LTR) are fair game over on this side. It's when they extend life when they get to be an issue...which brings most of them off the table. :P

Not sure off the top of my head if this has been asked/answered yet, but it is something that's just come up in an unpublished ID attempt I'm playing ...

Do imaginary friends need to be made real to count as best friends, or if they are in their imaginary friend form and maintain best friend status, can they count?

They're in the relationship panel even when they're not made real, so yes. Count them if you want to.

Hi, I finally got a new computer & am able to play Sims 3 again after almost a year of not being able to & now I have a question.  ;D

I noticed while playing around, that neighbourhood events such as the Grill-A-Thon & the Eating Contest show up as opportunities if your Sim shows up at the location & time they are being held. Do these count as Black Ops or are they not allowed?

They count. They occupy the Special Opportunity slot, which is what matters.

I'm already thinking of Gen 4 for both the Grammars and the Avengers. i'm going to make that generation into a handiness supermax. Just a quick question, is giving that sim unlucky as a trait considered cheating if i have the chance to give sims traits at age up, or just prudent behaviour? Anyone who knows about my past attempts know that my sims like to electrocute themselves when attempting upgrades to speakers on the wall nowhere near water. Yes, Christopher Steel, I am looking at/thinking of you!

Just give them Handy. It protects them against electrocution entirely without them having to prematurely face Grim.

Just wanted to give an update ... I think the Avengers are likely to be the most successful for me.

Agnes has just died in game on Sunday of week 9 (the current day). She is the first death in the family, and was approximately 100.

Marty and Justine Keaton are both over 90 so they'll probably be dying soonish.

Founder is immortal, Gen 2 turns Adult on Monday of week 9 and Gen 3 became a teen on Saturday of week 8. His IF was turned real and as both are teens, they are boyfriend/girlfriend. Following Agnes' death, I have 7 in the household, so enough space for Gen 4 to be born as soon as they are adults. I'm having to watch Gen 3 like a hawk, particularly in China for his martial arts contests. He is forever wanting to go to the chess table and learn logic, which would kind of wreck Gen 1's supermax of logic.

Gen 2 has adult/elder museum portraits, 1 or 2 opps and best friends to go. All the rest of her immortal needs are already completed.

Items for Gen 4's supermax of handiness are being gathered. Lots of broken computers, sinks, dishwashers, all in one toilets and more behind a locked gate means he'll repair the 10 plumbing/electrical items in a breeze.

So, hopefully things will continue to go nicely for me. Oh and I'm doing lots and lots of backups so that I hopefully will get through this time, and failure will be due to silliness on my part, not on computer glitches.

Well, I really should know better than making posts like the last one in this thread. :(

My Gen 2 has gone missing down the left hand side of the screen, her green box is still there, her little headshot isn't, neither is her head from its usual place across the bottom of the screen (her box is currently selected.

For a little while, Gen 2's uniform (she's in business career) disappeared on her. And when she changed to go to work, she went in nothing but her underclothes.

She traveled a long time ago in game, and Gen 3 has just returned from travel. Both trips were to Shang Simla.

None of the others in the family have this issue, just her. What should I try?

EDIT: Her portrait has gone from the family tree, friendship panel, skill journal, etc, but I can currently still select her from the UI.

Try going back to your last save where she was behaving.

That is prior to Gen 3 travelling overseas to get started on his Martial Arts Supermax. Would you recommend getting him to complete a different supermax and forget about martial arts altogether?

I'd give it another try before giving up on the supermax.

So, I exited without saving after accidentally failing an opportunity because I dragged something into the trash. Only after I exited I realized my mistake. Luckily I had saved fairly soon, reloaded the save, and did everything exactly the same. Can I still continue the dynasty? (I'm planning on posting it to the forum. Also, yes, I made an account mainly for this. I'M BEGGING FOR FORGIVENESS.)
