Thanks so much Trip! I do not have ITF installed and I never even thought of a temporary job. I'll test it out!

Edit: worked like a charm and I now have my first ever immortal! Thanks again!

@alex51299: I'm happy. :D

Gardening is usually good for ops, so I don't know what happened in your case. Hope it's just a one-time thing.

Which neighbourhood are you playing in @alex51299 ? Just wondering here if there might be some neighbourhoods that gardening ops don't fire as well when compared to others.

@Trip @Deklitch Thank you both! I'm in Sunset Valley. Ironically, it was only after the ambrosia was eaten that the gardening opportunities started rolling in.  ::) Go figure.

Help!  My gen 8 heir seems to be terminally bugged.  He's a day from elder and not getting any opportunities (well, none apart from celebrity ones that have already been claimed).  I put him into the investigator career and he got one case, then was offered that non-case to study at home.  Since turning that one down for the third time, he's not getting anything at all.  He goes into the police station or uses the computer but just runs through the animation without any case appearing.  Restarting the game makes no difference.  I'm begining to consider drastic action like a factory reset and/or going back to an earlier save.  Any ideas?

@hazelnut: Try the factory reset...though I guess you can't do a "true" one because you'd have to reinstall Monte Vista to get back in.

I did  manage to do a true reset, by starting a new game in Monte Vista and then copying across the two world package files from the old folder.  It worked fine: family tree, friends, property ownership all intact.  Unfortunately, Tyrone's opportunity repellent also transferred across.  I've tried testing earlier saves and the one immediately after his adult birthday appears to be unaffected, so far at least.  Can I try replaying from there?

Team, I'm having an issue with my file - My Gen 3 has lost a trait, and I don't remember which one she had. I suspect it was Ambitious, but I'm not 100% clear, because it was a side-trait she didn't need. Since I'm not sure which trait it was, how should I proceed? I haven't been keeping backups so I can't revert to one.

@Seabody: It sounds like a pretty minor issue. Add in whatever was the most likely trait.

Hello, this is my first attempt at any challenge, and I am kinda new to Sims in general. How do I get a portrait done of my Sim? It's nearing the time where I need to get one, but I don't know how

@Tomethius: First, you need a painter who has at least a level 7 painting skill.

If you have that, you direct them to an easel, and use the "Paint a Portrait of..." interaction with your immortal-to-be as the desired target. Don't fall into the pit-trap of using the "Paint Still-Life" option and getting your sim in the frame. Not the same, and not eligible.

@Trip Well, I guess this first run is a wash, then. Either that, or I need to find a lvl 7 painter in 1.3 days... :'(

Sounds like it is time to start looking up all the residents of my town, then
EDIT: Found the best-case individual. An Agnes Crumplebottom. Too bad she is unemployed, and I haven't ever seen her. Sigh
