I've had plans for a Vampire Wine Cellar ever since LN came out.  Had tons of computer problems and RL problems (both continuing) so it's never really gotten very far.

I was trying to make combinations for Taste, rather than Value, as I wanted my rich snobby vampires to 'live' off of the Plasma Nectar.  It is FAR more efficient for a vampire to use one single plasma fruit for three or so bottles of Nectar, rather than eating it for one meal.

I lost some of the records I did, and only have some scribbles on a scrap of paper.  I wish I remembered which fruits I tried, but I know I would have tried several of the good ones, so they must have all turned out about the same.

9 fruit +1 Plasma = basic Vampire Nectar.  Drinkable.
3 Flame + 3 Life + 3 Plasma = Good quality, but didn't get the bonuses I was hoping for.
5 Life +3 Flame + 1 Plasma + 1 Fruit = Bad tasting, but got Full of Life and Warm Fuzzies
5 Life +3 Flame + 2 Plasma = better taste, but loses the fun of different flavors.

Obviously, I was trying for good taste and at least decent quality while using the least amount of plasma fruit possible.  I'll get back on that when I stop my computer's overheating problem.

-------------------

Related - I wanted to know if anyone had tried making plasma from any of the new plants?  Supernatural didn't really give much that seems Nectar-able, but adding some of those herbs might be interesting.
I don't even see the UL plants on the official Carl's Plant List, so I can't remember what there was to use, more herbs and coffee beans, I think?

Anyway, was just wondering if any of those were usable for Nectar.  (I thought it would be hilarious to make nectar from the Forbidden Fruit seed, and even better if drinking it made a Plantsim sick...)

Welcome to the forum, skmt999, and thanks for sharing the results of your experiments.  It's always interesting to find new combinations for nectar.

I hope you'll enjoy the forum!  :)

I've been looking for an amazing recipe with apples to serve in the fall in the Seasons xp when I came across this post from Anushka.

I used the 5 Apples and 5 Gralladina Fran grapes recipe and sure enough it came out amazing.

So I named it "Jill's Hard Grapple Cider" and I'll serve that with Pumpkin Pie at a costume party in the fall.

Thanks for that one Anushka. :)

UPDATE:

The new Bohemian Garden that was released this week by the store offers 8 new harvestables including Strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, Peaches, Pears and Cocoa Beans.  This gives one even more choices for amazing nectar recipes.

So far I have made several nectars - my favorite being a 'Strawberry Chocolate Delite' nectar using 5 Cocoa, 5 Strawberry.  My Sims love drinking that nectar.

Enjoy!

I don't know if this is going to be useful to anyone in the world but me, but I'm transcribing the recipes I'm finding in this thread into a google.docs spreadsheet so I can sort by whatever fruit I have the most of on hand.

I haven't added any new recipes.  I haven't tested most of these.  I have, so far, only copied over the Great and Amazing ones.

*edit*
I wound up copying the "terrible" and "not good" ones into a second sheet.  I'm still debating "pretty good."  It's not really good enough to put in with the great/awesome ones, but it's not worth avoiding it either... hm...  Thoughts?

*Edit2*
I've completely reworked it. (Obsessive?  Me?  Never. lol)  There's now a tab for each quality that auto-fills when you put stuff in the "Input" sheet.  (So I can do my book-keeping all in one tab without having to tab back and forth a million times to see if I've already tried something, but each quality gets it's own page.)  I've also (I think) made just the Input page editable, in case anyone else wants to experiment.

This was my first great one made with Lemon from the Al Fresco street market:
20% Life Fruit
40% Gralladina Grapes
40% Lemon

Its around 200 simleons per bottle.

And here's another one, this one I think is Amazing:
90% pomegranate
10% Lemon

reading this thread I found 1 fruit missing

why can't we use pumpkin to make a bottle?

btw my first recipy is a basic-made 1 life 1  flame 1 plasma for those who like hot lifely vampire nectars ofcourse
and I added 1 banana ,1 cherrie and 1 lime in for flavor
but then it still would just be fruit juice so gralladina, renoit, avornalino and normal grapes went in too

I did not check what value it has

That's a good question about the pumpkins, I was disappointed too.

If you purchased the store set that came with all of the extra fruits (Bohemian, I think?), those are also eligible for use in the recipes.

The consignment store will also sometimes have nectars for sale that contain ingredients you cannot use (I've seen purple eggplant nectar, and pecan nectar, and one chocolate/cocoa nectar).

I wanted to find recipes that meet these criteria:

No Life Fruit - you don't always want to get younger
No Plasma Fruit - you're not always a vampire
At least THREE Flame Fruit - let's get some warm fuzzies!!!
Has to be AMAZING
Has to be PERFECT - OK, used perfect fruit and a sim who mastered nectar making - so if not maybe you won't get that yet....

I wanted 15 recipes so you could make them all, your sim will have great stuff to drink, and then you can be a Mix Master and take advantage of the fantastic mod that made it possible for me to find these recipes without driving myself insane - Buzz_NectarCombinatorics - from ModTheSims

My sim made all these nectars on machines upgraded for Improved Pressing, and used the Mass Produce option - so THAT is the basis for the price, obviously you can tweak that a bit.  And like I said, all fruits were perfect and my sim had mastered nectar making but had not hit any of the challenges (until he made all these of course, then he hit mix master).

Here's the recipes I found - and some may already be on this thread somewhere, but they aren't all and not grouped like this, at least I didn't see them, and most haven't posted what they're worth either - I like knowing the price so if I'm going to make a lot of something, make it worth a nice amount to hit the drink nectar worth xxx wishes.

$230: 8 Flame / 2 Cherry
$200: 3 Flame / 2 Cran / 1 Grall / 1 Meloire / 1 Cherry / 2 Avo
$193: 3 Flame / 3 Cran / 1 Grall / 1 Meloire / 1 Renoit / 1 Grape
$187 3 Flame / 3 Grall / 4 Meloire
$183 4 Flame / 1 Grall / 2 Meloire / 1 Cherry / 1 Watermelon / 1 Renoit
$182 3 Flame / 3 Cran / 1 Meloire / 1 Watermelon / 1 Grape / 1 Banana
$178 3 Flame / 1 Cran / 1 Grall / 1 Pomelo / 1 Lime / 1 WM / 1 Ch Bl / 1 Renoit
$177 3 Flame / 1 Cran / 1 Meloire / 1 Cherry / 1 Avo / 1 Lime / 2 PomG
$174 3 Flame / 2 Grall / 1 Pomelo / 1 Cherry / 1 Plum / 1 Lime / 1 PomG
$174 3 Flame / 1 Cran / 1 Grall / 1 Pomelo / 1 Cherry / 1 Avo / 1 Plum / 1 PomG
$166 4 Flame / 1 Pomelo / 2 Avo / 1 Plum / 1 Ch Bl / 1 Apple
$166 3 Flame / 1 Grall / 1 Meloire / 2 Cherry / 1 PomG / 2 Renoit
$165 3 Flame / 1 Grall / 1 Pomelo / 1 Meloire / 1 Cherry / 1 Avo / 1 Renoit / 1 Apple
$164 4 Flame / 1 Pomelo / 1 Avo / 1 Plum / 1 PomG / 1 Ch Bl / 1 Grape

Abbreviations:
Flame - Flame Fruit
Cran - Cranerlet Nuala Grapes
Grall - Gralladina Fran Grapes
Avo - Avornalino Grapes
PomG - Pomegranate
Ch Bl - Cherimola Blanc Grapes
Grape - not abbreviated but these are just regular old grapes from the base game

I find that the mod will only find Great and Amazing recipes and more often Amazing.  It does have an annoying tendency to find the same recipe all the time, so I mess with how much of each fruit is in the pocket to get a different result....  You DO have to be a mix master to use the mod - when you are, have the fruits to select from in your pocket, click on the machine and pick "Add Good Fruit Combination" and then have them "Add Fruit" so you can see what it was, and take it back if you don't want to give it a try.

I realize I'm essentially gravedigging at this thread, but having got back into playing the nectar-making game again, I went through this thread and did not spot the following:

- Price-wise, does it matter which nectar rack the nectar is stored in, or even if it is kept on a table or similar?
- The game makes big hoopla about nectar being made/aged underground - does this actually matter?

In my own experience I've not noticed any effect from either of these factors. How about you guys?

Yes, underground definitely helps. Even nectar that was apparently pretty poor on making ages well. It should be in a nectar rack, ideally underground. Going down an extra level (as in a sub-basement) doesn't seem to make a difference though.

I found an Amazing Nectar combo, 50% Life Fruit, 30% Cranerlet Nuala Grape, and 20% Watermelon. Feel free to use as you will.
(Assuming that all fruits are perfect, of course)
