Been there.  :D

Great update! Is Erik an original townie? Because Gabrielle looks different than story progression townies do.

Yeah, I'm wondering about Gabrielle's not-as-generic looks. Original townie offspring, plastic surgery, or some other tricks you're withholding from us?

Anyways, she looks about 10.8 billion times better without that green hair.

Ah! Gabrielle... I love Sims with upturned mouth corners. I hope generation eight inherits those.
This was hilarious. The tit for tat between Subject and Watcher always amuses me.

Original townie offspring. She's the daughter of Erik Mosqueda (I think that's his surname), who lived with the Crumplesteels until his death in Chapter 113.

ArianaJade, I finally caught up on this story yesterday, and I love it! I can't wait to see what Daniel and Gabrielle's baby is like.  :D

Ya-ay -- new nooboo on the way. How are they all going to get home in Daniel's one-seater?

They might have to get the bus.

"Run on Windows Vista. That explains it."

Been there.  :D

Great update! Is Erik an original townie? Because Gabrielle looks different than story progression townies do.

Yep, like Ausette said he was an original townie, he's a child when a new game starts. Her mum though I think was a story progression townie, probably how she got her original hair colour.

Nooboo *happy dance, happy dance*

I know! I said that to my boyfriend when we were painting it. He doesn't like the sims though so he wasn't that impressed!

Oh yeah!

Original townie. I don't have Pets so there'll be no plastic surgery in this game (I'm too scared to move the file over onto my new computer which can handle Pets...). And yeah, that green hair helps no sim.

Ah! Gabrielle... I love Sims with upturned mouth corners. I hope generation eight inherits those.

Hehe! I'm with Marion on the car... hardly a people carrier, is it?  ;D

Unfortunately I don't think mid-life crisis cars are ever sensible... Writing for one is very fun though, especially grumpy Daniel. The watcher and him never see eye-to-eye at the best of times!

Thanks Ausette! I'm hopefully going to be able to update in a bit with the nooboo.

Nooboo! Nooboo!

I only wish to make it to your number of generations. Gabi's hair is so shimmery and...not green-brown yay?

I'm sure you will make it to this stage! Trick is to play slowly I think, the first attempt I did I wasn't really paying attention and kept fast forwarding to the interesting bits - and accidentally married Agnes to a vamp Chris. So this is technically my second attempt at this challenge, because the first one only made it to Week 1, Day 2.

It's a Girl

Meet the newest little CrumpleSteel, generation 8.

Daniel's in shock.

Daniel: She's tiny. How is she so tiny?

Gabrielle: If you want her bigger, then you can be the one that gives birth next time.

Daniel: She's so tiny. Really tiny. With tiny fingers and tiny toes...

She has no toes, she's a burrito.

Gabrielle: I thought it was supposed to be my brain that went fuzzy after all that gas and air.

He was helping himself when nobody was looking.

Gabrielle: She's so tiny.

Not you too.

We've bought a Bonehilda. With a child in the house now, extra help is useful.

She loves tidying, whereas Gabrielle and Daniel are fairly tidying-averse.

And Daniel's terrified of her.

Daniel: She's a skeleton! Which moves! And tidies!

Daniel: What if I drop her?

You won't.

Daniel: Maybe I'll just put her away.

I'm not sure you put a baby away, that sounds like you're going to put her in a cupboard.

Daniel: Maybe a cupboard would be safer. What happens if she falls through the bars of the cot?

To take him out of Gabrielle's way away from worrying about the baby, Daniel goes to Sophie and Caitlyn's party.

Daniel: So, I've got married, had a kid, had a bit of a midlife crisis. What've you been up to, Soph? Travel? Babies?

Sophie: Nothing. Not being the active household anymore kinda puts a damper on things.

Daniel: Sorry. It's the rules.

Sophie: They're stupid rules.

Remember Daniel's cousin Rosa? She's now an elder with a silly hat.

Meanwhile, at home, Gabrielle ages up with just Bonehilda and the baby.

Gabrielle: I prefer it. Nobody can see me get wrinkles that way.

Bonehilda and the baby do both have eyes, but they were too busy bonding. As much as a burrito and a skeleton can bond, anyway.

Gabrielle: Neither of us are getting any younger, and it'd be nice to have another child, don't you think?

Daniel: Have we got enough vegetables in for a stew tonight?

Gabrielle: Hmm.

You're not so scared of holding her now then?

Daniel: Nope. If a skeleton can hold her, so can I. And anyway she's tiny enough that she'll fall slowly because she doesn't weigh anything.

I don't know if that's how gravity works.

And another birthday for this update, the burrito becomes a real person in her own right.

Daniel: I'm going to miss her tininess.

Gabrielle: I'm not going to miss you going on about her tininess.

And here we have it. One toddler. Let's see who she looks like.

Place your bets...

...NOW.

N'awww. All cute, but eyes and hair from Gabrielle and a little bit of Daniel's face shape.

And is there another one on the way?

I love her eye colour too, I was glad she inherited that. Tiny is very fitting yeah, even if Daniel is a bit obsessed by her size!

Oh yes. I can't wait to see what he's like, having a baby has only made him more paranoid!

Hoping to have another update tomorrow.

All Work and Play

Let's start this update with Sophie and Caitlyn. They've had their adult birthday now. Still no sign of kids or boyfriends. I used to be quite disappointed when my spares never carried on the family, but I've got used to it now.

Gabrielle: Magic Ball, should I have children?

Magic 8 Ball: It's a bit late for that now, isn't it? I mean, really? You'll have three of them soon! Should have asked that before you started getting pregnant, little lady, because there's not a whole lot you can do about it now!

Gabrielle: Now I see why Daniel threw you at the wall. Stupid ball.

Magic 8 Ball: I'm brighter than your husband.

Gabrielle: Well, yes, I guess you are a brighter colour.

Gabrielle: Mummy lover her little flower, doesn't she? Doesn't she?

Iris: Boo! Mummy!

Yes, baby's name is Iris. I thought it'd be mean to not tell you for much longer.

Gabrielle: Your first word was mummy!

However it's Daniel that gets the main task of teaching little Iris to talk.

Daniel: Sometimes when you're older boys might try and give you a present. If they give you diamonds, only then are you allowed to bring them home so Daddy can meet them. And if Daddy doesn't like them, you can't go out with them.

Don't you think it's a bit early for this?

Daniel: It's good to get it in her head early, then she'll understand why she isn't allowed to date until she's at least 25.

I think for now she's more interested in her teddy than in boys.

Daniel: And long may it stay that way!

Bonus cute toddler picture.

Gabrielle: She's so cute. Still so tiny though. With her little bunches and her little toes and her little...

Yeah, yeah, we get it. She's tiny. And growing.

Daniel: That's because I've been watering her.

What?!

Daniel: Gabi waters her plants to make them grow. So I thought that was how you made babies grow.

For someone who reads so many books, you clearly missed the parenting manuals.

Daniel: Oh well. Not a problem. I think I'd prefer her to stay small forever.

Daniel: So you want to audition for the lead role? Those in the military are usually a little younger, you know. Perhaps you'd be more suited to the role of the general behind the lines. You've got a good face for that.

Daniel: Perhaps you're a bit old too, but you've got the enthusiasm and talent. Come back tomorrow for a screen-test with the rest of the cast.

Rebecca Warren: I'd like to audition for the role of Private Ryan too.

Daniel: Right then, imagine for me you're under enemy fire and you've got to break out of a bunker.

Rebecca Warren: Cluck cluck cluck! Cluuuuuckkk!

Daniel: Umm. Interesting. I'll let you know.

Gabrielle: Ahhh! Daniel!

Another CrumpleSteel is on their way.

Make that two CrumpleSteels.

Gabrielle: Meet Mary and Ethel.

ETHEL?!

Gabrielle: What's wrong with Ethel? Old lady chic names are in at the moment, I'm telling you.

Not Ethel. Ethel is never in. It's like Keith and Kevin.

Daniel: Oh come on. Nothing is as bad as Kevin.

Gabrielle: Aww Ethel. I think you've got a lovely name. Don't listen to that nasty Watcher.

Or the teasing at school...

Gabrielle: How can three such tiny people cause so much mess?

Gabrielle: Eurgh. I feel ill. It's all this trash.

OR IS IT?

Dum dum duuuummmm...

Daniel is adorably naive. What a fun character he's turned out to be!

I do love the name Iris. :) A sweet, flowery name for an adorable little toddler. I can't wait to see her grow up.

Mary is such a classic name...though admittedly I am a bit more dubious about Ethel. I had a great aunt with that name and she wasn't exactly a pleasant person. :P

Fantastic update!

Daniel has an interesting approach to childrearing. I'll look and see if I have more auditions shots, I don't know if I do! I didn't know the meaning of Ethel, that's a nice meaning actually.

Congrats on the twins.
