Poor Stella but honestly, I love Shanita. I think I'll be sad to her go. Kelvin Pavilion is just a stupid lot. Like who would want to go out, go through a maze just for a few seats? At least real mazes have rewards ]nd don't make you stamp your feet like useless Sims.

Thanks Gogo, I'm really happy that you enjoy my characters  :). Believe it or not, I actually like Kelvin Pavilion; the deck at the top is just gorgeous, and the impractical maze isn't too hard to remove.

I can't wait to see the new world. I'll miss the rest of the family though, :(

I can't wait to show you the world, it's one of my favourites  :). I knew I'd miss the Ursines too, which is why I tried to give them a bit of closure in this last chapter.

What a fun and crazy ending to Lunar Lakes. Congrats to Shanita and Kris...I guess. :P Maybe Stella will find an equally devious partner in the next town...?

Looking forward to seeing where the Joneses go next!

Thank you, Raia! I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get this chapter to work - it involved a lot of staged pictures, which I am terrible at taking. Three Sims died.  :o

Poor Stella lol. Lets hope she find love in the new town. Very funny update. ;D

Thanks, Louise  :). It's good to hear my terrible jokes are still working!

Poor Stella!

I'm so excited to find out where they are going next!

Thanks, Salti! I honestly wasn't expecting this much sympathy for Stella. You know she's evil, right?  :o

My computer has been alarmingly sluggish lately, so I have no idea how long the next chapter will take. In the meantime, here's something fun:

~ Happy Valentine's Day, 2013 ~

Hm, I didn't catch this the first time I read through this latest chapter...but given what Omar's father said about new recruits from Twinbrook, it would appear that Magpie was successful in her efforts to overturn the criminal organization in her hometown. :)

Though I imagine that both she and VJ would be very old if not passed on by now.

Chapter 57 – In Sickness and Health

Here it is guys, the brand new world for the generation: Lucky Palms, city of hardy flora and retro architecture. For me, Lucky Palms is indeed a lucky world; I got on it sale after months of dreaming about playing the Joneses in the desert. Let’s all slop on some sunscreen and dive right in!

This is the family’s new house for the cycle: Cactus Court, 5 BR 5 BA, located right next to the casino that isn’t there. I’m not particularly happy with how the courtyard looks to be honest, but I can’t deny that it’s going to be awesome having a hot tub again.

Said hot tub is immediately put to work in the creation of the next generation. I’m very much looking forward to spouse-hunting this time around, because guess what? Lucky Palms starts out with FIVE pregnant women! That’s FIVE original townie offspring to choose from later on! We just have to keep the mothers close and hopefully they won’t get ideas about skipping town on us.

“So Yolanda, now that you're friends with us do you think you could stay in this one-bedroom house for two decades until my future child can potentially marry yours?”
“What? I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m not going to have any bab–”

“…Uuuungh, my stomach. What did I eat?
“You tell me. Did it contain any apple or watermelon?”

“Greetings, neighbour. I heard you retching in the bathroom and instantly knew that I had to befriend you.”
“Your introduction disturbs and confuses me, but approve of your fashion sense. Friendship it is.”

“Oh! I’m so sorry to spoil this outing, but I feel like I’m going to be sick!”
“That’s OK, Lina. A lot of our friends are in your condition right now.”
“Really? Is there a bug going around or something?”
“…You could say that.”

After a good first day making friends and babies, the Joneses are awakened by a visit from Lucky Palms’ last non-pregnant woman. Luckily, I remembered to put a burglar alarm in the lounge room.

“GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY!”
AARGH!
“It looks like the burglar got away this time. Hopefully we can catch them next time.”

HEY! Get back here! What’s the point of being prepared if the police don’t even DO anything?

Stella: “OHMIGOD MY TURN NEXT!”
Omar: “AARGH! GET HER OFF ME! GET HER OFF ME!”
Mandy: “Be patient, darling. Until the interaction is finished, there’s nothing we can do but stare blankly at you with ‘Fight!’ in our action queues.”
Omar: “HEEEELP MEEEEEE!”
Hope: “In a minute, kid. Gee, can’t you tell from our lifeless expressions how concerned and enraged we are for you?”
Rudolpho: “Why, it’s the greatest show I’ve ever seen! How delightful that I’m already dead and not in any danger!”

Never fear, Hope and her cyan knickers shall save the day! Poor sensitive Omar isn’t suited to fistfights, but that’s OK because everyone else seems to have inherited Lisa’s violent streak. Even Mandy is alarmingly eager to contribute, unborn baby and all.

Speaking of unborn babies, here’s a fun game: Count the pregnant women! After that blood-chilling robbery, I thought it would be fun to throw a baby shower of sorts for Lucky Palms. Hopefully we’re in for a nice, calm…

Whoops. In hindsight, there were pretty good odds that at least one of the guests would go into labour. Today’s winner of Birth Roulette is Mandy’s friend Aya Tanner, who has to be taken to hospital to deliver a son named Glenn.

And the next day’s winner is Mandy Jones, who gives birth to a boy I name Valentine. Hey, it’s seasonally appropriate, and isn’t love what holds the family together? They certainly aren’t united by shared interests; just look at what Omar does the moment he gets back from the hospital:

“Omar, turn off that awful machine this instant.
“But I’m almost at a high score!”
“I don’t care! You’ve been playing for fifteen minutes already, that’s like sixty per cent of our son’s life!”

There’s no need to make that face, Mandy; in my experience, if there’s one thing Sims autonomously play with more than video games, it’s babies.

See? I don’t even have to direct Omar to look after Valentine. He just loves that kid.

After the drama of the last party, I elect to grow up Valentine quietly at home. He’s got most of his father’s features, but the violet eyes are from Liberty. His traits are Perceptive and Light Sleeper, and his favourite things are dim sum, soul music and (to my delight) the colour pink.

Valentine is a cute if not particularly bright little toddler. I could almost understand if he got stuck in the potty chair, but the peg box? Why would you want to sit in that? Just because your limbs are cylindrical doesn’t mean they’ll fit in the round holes, kid.

Seriously? Don’t give me that look; it’s not the stick that’s the problem here.

At least Auntie Hope is quick to teach Valentine the important things. It gives her something to do to take her mind off the wishes she's been getting to take Omar skinny dipping.

Normally Valentine would have grandparents to look after him, but Barry and Liberty just want to spend time with each other. They usually play catch or video games when I leave them alone, but on the night after Valentine’s birthday they splurge on a dinner date at the bistro.

Sadly, that dinner date would prove to be their last. Rest in peace, Barry Keaton. For all your goofiness, you were an absolute darling and will be greatly missed by your family and students.

Huh, that’s odd. I assure you that the family was appropriately devastated, but I’ve gone through my screenshot folder and it looks like I was too distraught to take any decent pictures. All I have is this perplexing shot:

The perfect dish would bring her riches, admiration, a whole new life, but every night the empty aquarium would ask her – Was it worth it?

Lucky Palms it is! I never noticed that town had so many pregnant women at the start! Welcome Valentine and RIP Barry.

Oh and yeah! I would really like to see Stella have a kid, too!  :D
