...when you have premonitions about the Sims.
I once dreamt of a Sims game I had never heard of. And you know what? The next day I saw it. It was TS2: Apartment Life.
Wow, you can see the future! ;D

What will TS4 be like? :P

What's the next EP gonna be Seabody?

Pets. :P

What will TS4 be like? :P

Advanced. They will use a webcam to take a picture of you and input it as a Sim, reducing the need to create a simself. You will have Seasons AND Pets as the base game, and the first EP will be Magic.
Now if all of that is true, I will be scared.

I've been reading up on the posts and I have to admit that I have most of the simstoms listed :p

Dreaming about Sims - Check
Analysing people in terms of Traits and Moodlets - Check
Jealous cat who likes to sleep on my Keyboard While I'm playing -Check
Denial about being able to quit at any time (yeah right :D) - Check
Talking about my sims families to "normal" people and getting weird looks - Check.

In other words this game should be banned as something that creates dependency :D

Haha, me too, cugi-terl! Only it's more a jealous guinea pig in my case... I also wish I could quit life sometimes; like in maths class!
And when I get all excited about new babies in 'the family' my friends are all 'What? You're getting a little brother or sister?!'
I can tell you it's extremely embarrassing explaining the truth...

So we were doing tests in school last week, and I finished early. I was so bored I zoned out and I was mentally recolouring patterns.

When you're getting your real horse ready to ride, and you imagine him having a 'brushed' moodlet and a 'clean feet' moodlet - and you double the moodlet because you actually clean all FOUR of his feet!

Unfortunately my poor horse hasn't been ridden in years, and has been pastured at my Mum's. My daughter is getting interested in riding, so he's getting ridden again. The poor thing has the 'this saddle has been on too long' moodlet after only 20 mins. He got girth galls :( I had a ride and it was like riding a jack-hammer because he is so stiff and a bit sore. He used to have such a nice gait. He needs some regular gradual exercise to get him into shape!

@Chuckles: I do the same thing with my real life cat! I imagine he's got the Pampurred moodlet, and the "new friend" moodlet. I think he's gotten the scolded moodlet quite a bit too from climbing on the kitchen table!  ;D

Dog owners: Does your dog run up to you with his leash or a toy when you're playing Sims?

The Schipperke method for getting your human away from the computer:  (that's Schipperke as in my dogs, not me)

1.  Jump on the human's lap.  Lick her face, ears, etc.  If that doesn't work, go to -
2.  Bark in the human's face, bare your teeth, make as much noise as possible.  And if all else fails -
3.  Get down on the floor under the computer table and disconnect something.  This one is pretty much guaranteed to get the human off the computer!

But what if they disconnect a modem cable? :P Then you'll be fine for Sims, but not for Forum. Until you realise a dog disconnected the cable, and plug it back in, by which time said dog is on the computer playing Angry Birds.

Hush!  Don't give the devil dogs any ideas!   :D

But I guess, as the title of this thread says, the woofs wouldn't have to go to such lengths to get me off the computer if I didn't spend so much time playing Sims.  So it's not entirely their fault.  ;)

My kitty, Mr. T, watches the Angry Birds out the window.  He tells them to be quiet when they're disturbing his beauty sleep, too.  He also helps me post on the forum and play Sims sometimes.  But his favorite computer related activity is watching animal videos with me on YouTube.  He's not a fan of Mishka the Singing Husky, though.  Nope, not at all...

We are in the process of moving our kitchen design studio to a new location.  During a few of the days, I kept picturing my hygiene bar going down, and was a little annoyed that I'd have the dirty sock moodlet by the time we were done for the day.

I was chuckling at my young couple being all lovey dovey and then doing woohoo twice on the trot. OH asked what I was chucking at, and I explained as if it's perfectly normal and was suprised when he looked puzzled.  He doesn't play sims so of course he was puzzled but I couldn't understand why he didn't get it. oops!

p.s. pregnancy sure moves fast! yeah this is my first.

Yesterday my friend was singing really loudly in my other friends face, and I imagined poor Megan with the 'Creeped out' moodlet. Also, the 'Boring Lecture' or something moodlet (the one sims get after a rubbish tour) in my singing lesson.

Yesterday evening I decided I was bored with making the same old recipes and went online to see what new recipes I could find.  I found myself searching for Autumn Salad and Goopy Carbonara.  Could wanting to eat like my Sims be a sign that I've played too much Sims?  Surely not ...  :D

By the way, I found recipes for both dishes.  There were several versions of Autumn Salad and they sounded quite tasty.  The Goopy Carbonara recipe, unfortunately for my purposes, was not vegetarian but could probably be modified to make a vegetarian version.

Even though they don't have chilli con carne in sims 3 (it was a sims 2 dish) I still, after playing sims, feel like eating chilli con carne. So I guess it's a completely normal side effect.

I still find myself using common Sims commands (like tilting the game so you have a bird's eye view) in other games - in Evil Genius, I keep wondering why it won't let me see from the top down.
