Good morning,

I was wondering if we could add the knitting skill in to Low Tech era? Obviously not plopsy, but can we add that skill as one of the alternatives for this era?

Good point, although the clothes are a bit too modern -- how about Mid Tech instead?

Thank you!  ;D

I also added fabrication (candle-making only) to Low Tech and fabrication to Hi Tech. In other words, if you choose it for the Low Tech era, you can only make candles to max the skill.

I'm thinking about trying this challenge and am trying to figure out my options.

Here are my questions:
Q1: Sulani
If I don't want to start in Sulani, may my sims move there later on during the More Tech or High Tech Era?

Q2: Eco Footprint
Are we free to disable the Eco Footprint feature without disabling the Eco Lifestyle pack?

Q3: Community Spaces (EL)
May we add a community space as a community venue in the High Tech era?

Whatever the Challenge Team decides is fine with me. I'm just trying to plan my spread of skills, aspirations, and career.
I like how knitting, candle-making, and fabrication have been incorporated!
Thank you for reading.

Yes, to all three.

I'm planning on an Off-the-Grid start of my SimTech Challenge and was excited about candle-making.
But how could my sims collect enough Bits & Pieces for candle-making without a Recycling Machine?
Are trashcans permitted in Low Tech? (My sims could perhaps rummage in trashcans for Bits & Pieces.)

If you give your Sims a wastepaper basket, they can rummage in that. Put your dishes in, and they can get bits and pieces out.

Is there a reason Windenburg was left out of the starting world options? I was considering starting on the island.

No reason. I added in Windenburg and Glimmerbrook. Strangerville is still out because of the Mother, and Evergreen Harbor is too modern-looking. Del Sol Valley has no access to fishing, but you can move there in later eras.

What a brilliant question, reggikko! I also thought of Windenburg island but merely relegated it to the More Tech era.
I'm looking forward to seeing how you approach this challenge. :)

Thank you for the tip on collecting Bits & Pieces in the Low Tech Era.

I tried this challenge once before when I was pretty new to Sims 4 and bombed it spectacularly... Looking forward to trying again now that I know the game better! This time I'm starting in Sulani for hygiene reasons.

Question - in Low Tech when we're allowed to add a park, can we put back one of the original beaches in Sulani instead? I'm doing as the rules suggest and saving all the town lots to my library before bulldozing them. Can I just put one of the two beaches back on its lot and keep the venue type as a beach?

Here are my castaways on their desert island lot (Key Point):

I've just started rebuilding Sulani at the start of the Mid Tech Era, adding commercial and residential lots appropriate for that era.

Question: For the No Tech Era, I evicted all the premade sims from their homes and bulldozed all the lots, but many (if not all) of them are still alive.
Once I've add Mid Tech residences, do I move these sims back into their homes?
Or, since I've checked "Fill Empty Homes," do the Sulani premades remain homeless?
