Comon snala?

Hi, I've been reading the site and forums for a long while but just now decided to join.

I used to work for a dot.com in 2000 where the computer specs were amazing and all the company employees were playing PC games in their free time. When someone in the IT team started to play the Sims, those who were sick of Starcraft jumped on the bandwagon, including me. I was a hardcore Simcity player so it had a familiar visual atmosphere to which I could relate.

My workaholic life kept me from playing too much, however - I missed out on Sims 2 completely - but earlier this year I found myself with some extra time and was getting all hyped up about playing Simcity 2013, which, as many of you know, turned out to be a huuuuuuuuuuuuge fiasco. So there I was, with lots of free time on my hands, and I just had to play something. Origin decided to have a sale right then, so being familiar with the franchise, I naturally decided to go for Sims 3.

So that's how the story goes. Although an "old-timer" simmer, I found myself completely lost in the level of gameplay involved, and found this site while searching for tutorials. Bookmarked it on that first day and have been coming back for info ever since. I'd like to say a big thank you to those , especially the admins and modders, for their time and effort in making the gameplay (and not gamework) enjoyable.

Anyhow, nice to meet you all, I really like the friendly atmosphere here and hope to contribute more in the future.
Soom soom!

P.S. Funny thing about Sims 3: it was the "new" simlish that threw me off more than the gameplay. Granted, I've only been playing it for a couple of months, but all I remember is "neb neb" from teaching the toddlers how to talk.  ;D

Welcome to the forum Couch! It will be nice to have another person to decipher the complex technical terms when it comes to computers!

Hello everyone!
I'm Louise, and well I just joined. I've wanted to find someone to share my passion for the Sims 3 with for a long time, and I've also long known that I wanted it to be this forum above all else - it just seems the nicest place to be. Well, today I finally found the courage to join.
I've played the Sims since the very first game (since I was about twelve or so and that's about ten years ago - my word) but I hardly ever go back to the old games these days - once I go for a new game, I always find it so hard to live without ageing or open neighbourhoods or customisation etc.
Looking forward to joining the fun here and meeting people :)

I'm David, and I came here specifically because I love the Townie makeover thread. And now I'm getting into the Children born to Townies thread.
