When you can't get to sleep because your brain is too active planning your next challenge strategy, or indeed, your next challenge!

I fight with this almost every night.  Not necessarily planning challenges, just thinking about what I played that day, what and who I want to play tomorrow, wishing I could stay up until I drop dead from exhaustion to play.

You know you played too much Sims when.. you now hate toddlers with a passion just because their Sims toddlers are extremely needy. (I'm guilty. Pam's gonna hate me now.  ;) )

It's okay. I don't want real kids after playing with Sims 3 toddlers. Ugh. Back in the Sims 2 days, toddlers were so real and cute. Sims 3 they're so needy.  >:(

I was being driven crazy in my dynasty because the baby would keep on crying all night and it was tough because I could never just put the game on full speed during the night.

Well you could Sportsfan, just turn off the sound and press 3.  Then ignore the toddler all night.

You know you've played too much when you look in the mirror thinking you can just instantly change your hairstyle from short to long, and some random color.

I meant I my other sims couldn't sleep and it kept slowing down the game to wake them up.

...You get so irritated with Sims 3 you go back to playing Sims 2. ;)

I had that once. But then went back to TS3 immediately.

I agree with Esther. Because...

You know you've played too much sims when you say you've played too much Sims and start an argument... can you really play too much Sims, or is it totally possible to not play enough Sims?
Then your brain hurts so you go play Sims.

Then I could always keep my hair at the length I want instead of having it grow out too long and then cutting it too short.

I agree. I color my hair way too much in real life. I wish it were that easy to just go back to my old hair in just a click of a button.

That way your hair would always be perfect and you wouldn't have to take ages brushing/straightening it.
And when you wish your makeup would stay on permanently.

Personally, I refuse to answer the door unless my hair and makeup are done.

I can certainly agree with that. I also wish I could spin on my clothes in a flash like they do in the Sims. ;)
