I wouldn't see the violins and guitars as a separate category, but others on the team might differ. Team?

According to the list, all woodworking items requiring handiness are lumped into one category.

Hi, When you get 50 points do you need to being controlling the next heir immediately or is it when they age up to YA?

@wa-wa-world

The exchange below from this thread between MarianT and reggikko answers your question:

Do we begin controlling the heir once 50 points are accumulated, regardless of age, or do we wait until they are a YA? If we can control them before YA, can they start on their collections or do they wait?

Yes, you have to switch over to the heir at 50 points. They can start on their collection and portraits at any age.

@h4r13y

Hello and welcome to the forum!
Just wanted to share that my completion of the 8-generation Immortal Dynasty Challenge took me nine attempts; twice, I even failed at the sixth generation which was frustratingly close!
imho, the tournament challenges are a fantastic way to learn skills for playing all of this forum's dynasty's challenges.
Regardless of the finishing score, we always end up learning something new about The Sims 4 and become better at the dynasty challenges.
Reading the strategies of the winning players is also enlightening.

If a low score bothers you, though, you might try and do what I'm trying to do this year.
I plan to finish each tournament challenge soon after it's announced and submit my score right away.
That way, I can enjoy the learning/playing process of a tournament challenge without stressing over higher scores (because no one else has posted yet, lol).

Hope you'll give the tournament challenges another try, because the more the merrier!  :D

@MarianT, @Metropolis Man, @oshizu - Thanks a bunch for the welcome and the guidance! I will try the tournament challenges. They do seem fun.

Oshizu, I like your idea of submitting early. I may just do that.

I have a couple of questions.

Are we strictly tied to moving the elder Sim into Crick Cabana or could we possibly move them into any available house or apartment they can afford in any neighborhood?

Has the team come to a decision regarding aging up heirs early if all requirements are met?

In the challenge set-up, what does "Aging -- Normal" mean? I take it to mean "Lifespan -- Normal" but what about the other settings for in the Game Options?

Hello team,

Sorry to bring it up again, but just saw that the issue of dead Sims appearing back as alive sims is indeed a bug.  They are traitless and severely glitched.  In other games, they have caused some issues.  There doesn't seem to be a work around as of yet.  I was wondering if I could attempt to delete them as I would a ghost? Here's the Bug Thread (which I did click "me too" on).  If that doesn't work, may have to wait for a patch.  Just thought I'd give a heads up, in case anyone else experiences it.

Hi Tipi -- yes, by aging we mean lifespan...the other Game option settings are:

The following options should be chosen: Autonomy -- Full; Aging -- Normal; Fill Empty Houses -- Checked.

@Shewolf13 (and any others plagued by the dead Sims bug) -- go ahead and delete them given there has not been a fix yet.

@Tipi and the Challenges Team

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I've also set two other Game Options settings as follows:
Auto Age (Played Sims): Yes
Auto Age (Unplayed Sims): checked

@Metropolis Man
Thank you for your quick decision about the dead sims bug!

Thank you!  I hope it works. Or there's a fix to it soon.

I have the dead sim bug too.  It's Gavin Richards from the roomies household.

We've been telling people that it's okay to delete them.

@reggiko, @oshizu, we haven't reached a consensus yet, but we probably won't allow early age-up for heirs. It makes sense for the Rival Dynasties because those Sims are in a race, and also for the Life States Dynasty because the player's score is based on the length of time.
