Does anyone know what EP's cause the most lag. I'm having huge lag issue and at this rate I'll have to restart my dynasty. If I have to do a full reinstall I'm ditching IP, IF, SH. Are there any others that cause lag? Those are just the ones I don't use.

Can't say which ones cause the most lag but what I do is have all my EPs/SPs installed but remove the worlds from the Sims folder I'm currently playing and put those elsewhere.  In my case a desktop folder called worlds.  They don't even show up in the menu and it seems to have reduced lag for me.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

Never mind, the lag issues resolved themselves.

Thanks anyway!  ;D

Thank you for the additional rulings regarding Union Cove. With respect to Metro's Mansion and Amberlea Mansion, why is it that we are allowed to remove those two houses? do they increase lag big time or something?

Exactly. I didn't even believe it myself until I tried it any my UC game ran so much better without those two houses in the world.

Yes they do, and they aren't even all that slows it down but they are the only ones that can be deleted.  The Grange has all kinds of stuff it doesn't need, like the entire second floor, the Exclusive Lounge is ginormous with all it's stuff,  and worse than Amberlea or Metro's Mansion is Carl's Castle.  Only you can't delete a house that real people living in them.

As to why they are allowed to be removed, well I don't know why, but it is a good call if you want to play in UC.  Personally, when I'm not doing a dynasty there but I just want to play, I go in and  remove a lot more things while still trying to keep the overall look and feel of the place.

Are we allowed to place an Observatory in our main town, or will we always have to go to the future to use it? I want a later generation to have Astronomy as their career, so it would be helpful to have it in Aurora Skies.

@Fuzzle

Not allowed, you will have to go into the future to get access to the Astronomy career.

Is the game selector ok to use before starting a new dynasty?

That kinda sucks, but alright. I guess the exception to this is Midnight Hollow, since it comes with an Observatory?

The Observatory in Midnight Hollow is not the ITF Observatory. It's just a regular science lab rabbithole.

Yes. Can't use it once you've started, though.

Thanks, that would help with the lag.

So I was wondering, how old do some of your spouses live sometimes?  In a new string of Dynasties I just started, Erin Kennedy has outlived Claire Ursine and both Marty and Justine Keaton.  She's 116 without any signs of stopping, the game won't even let her retire.  I'm almost starting to wonder if she might be bugged somehow, but I'm terrible at keeping up to date on what kind of bugs are in the game.

Generation four's spouse lived to 119 in my game, and that's not even a record among dynasties. Rica had two mortals live past 130.

I mean, Erin might be glitched, but her age isn't unheard of either.

Christopher Steel, in Pam's Dynasty, lived to 121 the first time before a crash (post crash, I think it was...113?)

My record old sim was 152, but not in a dynasty file, fortunately. In my current decadynasty I have a spouse who is 89 and her mother is still alive.

Yeah, she just proved me wrong and died at the ripe old age of 118.  It's still weird though, that she never got the option to retire.

The next generation heir had to be born with both parent in the immortal (our) household right?
Does the parent has to be married or not?

As far as I am aware, they do not have to be married, just living in the same household, except for the seventh heir because of the space issue.

Hi there all! I have a clarification question:

I am particularly fond of townie genes (as many of you are, I'm sure). When my seventh generation is capable of having the final generation I was curious if it was against the rules to resurrect (using witchcraft spells) a long-dead-since-before-starting-the-game sim to not move in, but to befriend, invite over, have some fun and send them on their merry way to join the NPC household/whatever households those Sims join in directly after being raised from the grave?

That's perfectly fine, because if you can resurrect pre-made ghosts for your immortals to marry, why shouldn't you be able to resurrect one without moving them in? For reference, sims resurrected with the Reanimation Ritual remain in the Service NPC Household if you don't move them in.

Heck, you can even have #7 Try for Baby with a ghost without resurrecting them. Rhoxi and I both did that.

Thank you for clarifying! I just wanted to be sure because I was under the impression that you could only resurrect when you wanted to move them in. I didn't want a ghost baby (not that they aren't cool, I just can't stand Sim-reactions to them all the time!). Woo, now I just have to MAKE IT to generation 7! Haha.

It's been awhile and this thread is sooooo long so forgive the following question.  My founder has maxed, (reached level 10), of gardening but has not supermaxed it.  (not reached level 10 of the career or done all the black ops).  When we are talking about maxing and supermaxing does that mean she would have to max one skill, (gardening), and another skill for supermax?  In other words do you max out two skills, with one of them being supermax, or just one, supermaxed skill?

Union Cove is being a really easy place to ID, especially for me since I know where everyone lives and where most of the goodies are, so by day one my founder found and married her spouse, (Giovanni Gepetto), stole enough cars to set them up well, (Giovanni brings very little to the marriage), got her garden rolling along nicely and now at week 3 Pietro, still a child, is at level 6 painting, Giovanni is at level 6 sculpting, (they both started out at fairly high levels), and my founder has maxed gardening.  Everyone is pretty sleep deprived most of the time but that's the price you pay.
