A is exactly true.   Read everything again.

Metro says if you want to use the same founder nothing is allowed to change.  NOTHING is allowed to be re-randomized.   You can't add a freckle to this person.

If you want a different LTW or traits, you have to start with an entirely new person.

Apparently I misread it.

If you add a freckle, then technically it's a new founder  ;D

So if I sit in the sun and gain a freckle I am like a new wife to my husband ;D

Just kidding, well I was just wondering really. Didn't know such a discussion would come of it. Not that I mind a good discussion :)

Anyway, it is cristal clear to me. Thanks Metro and Rica for explaining. Besides, if I have to start over I usually prefer a new sim anyway, hoping for better luck with that one and I tend to get bored with it if I have to play some generations over again with the same sim. Besides, it can be quite confusing if something happened the first time or the second time.
Unless I haven't played so long or my game was bugged, then I might use exactly the same sim.
Either way, both are ok according to the rules I think.
Problem? Don't panic! There is always a solution. You just have to find it  :D

Yes resetSim is allowed to be used at any time to try and correct something.

So, uhm, I can't click on her, and her husband can't do the same... even after reset. HELP. D: For clarification she can do everything any other sim can do, I just can't click on her and issue commands, and her husband can't interact either. So confused!

Have you cleared out the caches recently or tried to go back to a backup save to see if it's still happening then? or maybe even restarting the game - dont forget to save as just in case.

This happened to me right before getting the "green box bug".
Can you save and restart that one? Then you'll see if you have the same bug. I sure hope not!

Clear caches is explained here.

Any time you save over another save with the same name (hitting save instead of save as) you create a backup save.

For the cache files:
Make sure the game is not running and that you've restarted your computer recently.
Go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3.
Inside delete the following files: compositorCache.package, scriptCache.package, simCompositorCache.package, and CASPartCache.package.
Now find the fold DCBackup in the same location.  Open it up and you should find lots of .package files.  Delete all of it but the one name ccmerged.package.   If you delete the ccmerged file then you'll need to reinstall all of your premium content to get it to work as intended.

Oh, ok! I had some trouble when deleting it, but didn't know this. Could this info please be added to the first post of this topic please? Because there it says you can delete everything in DCBackup...

So, weird new..development.

I sent the spouse off to China to pick up martial arts supplies and had him complete a couple of quests while he was there for visa points. I finished the second quest with a few hours left until his trip was up and nothing much else to do, so I had him phone himself home early.

The weird part is, when he got back to Sunset Valley, there were suddenly two of him in the household. One is standing by the mailbox at home, and one is riding a taxi back to the house like vacationers usually do. The one by the house still has all of his relationship information, while the taxi guy is merely acquaintances with everyone. Neither has any vacation information, but the one in the taxi is still carrying all of the relics he picked up on his trip.

So, two questions.

1) Has anyone else experienced this, and is it a sign of terrible horrible no good very bad things to come?
2) Do I have permission to move out the taxi guy after emptying out his pockets?

Actually just by the fact that you have the two of them could cause major issues with your game.   I would actually suggest going back to a prior save during the vacation and hoping that when you come back there is only one of your spouse.

Since it seems like a bug, I would suggest going to a previous save. This seems more honest plus you could very likely prevent a lot of more to come weird buggy things possibly related to this.

Wow, what great sentences I am writing. It is 2 am, time for bed I think ;)

Edit: LOL, ok, like Rica said. That was what I was trying to say :)
