The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Alchemy
Potions & Ingredients List, Their Effects and Curse Removal

Alchemy offers some extremely powerful potions in The Sims 4 Realm of Magic Game Pack.
While Realm of Magic comes with a total 24 spells Sims can learn to cast if they are a Spellcaster, it also features 15 potions that can be used to produce magical effects ranging from simple things like causing a Sim to puke, to curse cleansing, and resurrecting a Sim immediately when they die. Alchemy is made particularly easy due to a couple things, which I'll explain below.
Learning Potions

Ask Sages every 30 mins for a potion recipe, and you can have them all in about 7.5 hours.
You can use the Experiment interaction at a Cauldron to eventually learn a potion, but will have a far easier time building up a +20 or so relationship with the sages. The practical magic sage in particular can teach you recipes - the cooldown for asking for another recipe is shockingly low, at only 30 minutes.

Don't worry - you can learn the final potions from experimenting if the sages don't have a recipe. All potions can be learned from this one interaction.
Taking certain Perks may speed up the rate you learn new recipes (Experimenter) and grant you more Spellcaster XP while doing so, though for rapid gains I'd also use practic practical magic along with the other two.
When you learn a potion, you are given a free sample... meaning if you use the below, you will never even need to get ingredients unless you're doing a self-imposed challenge. I confess that this knowledge in part demoralized me from making this page, but it's here as plenty of people have asked for it.
Copypasto

Use Copypasto with Practiced Practicality and you'll never fail when at normal charge, with reduced failure rates at higher charge levels.
Copypasto is a practical magic spell that will make a duplicate of an item of your choice. There is a perk, "Practiced Practicality" that makes the failure rate 0 when your Sim is in a normal charge state. Get your Sim in a normal charge to duplicate really really important potions you need, like Curse Cleansing. This way you don't, you know, destroy them or something. In addition to this, you can get multiple duplicates with a perfect cast. Additionally, Repairio can raise the quality level of those potions, helping you to get better benefits.
Potions List

We have a full list of potions and ingredients below. Their effects can vary.
Here's the potions list - Valerian and Mandrake can be found in the little garden area in the Magic Realm. You can use a broom, teleportate, or the connected portal to get there. From there you can grow them at home - they have no season as far as I'm aware.
You may need to do some frog breeding if you want to take full advantage of this without using the dupe cheat.
Note Potions can have boosted effects, or go wrong. When it says or, the better buff is for a great success with that potion. Success is improved with higher quality potions, so get to casting those repairios.

Dear Carl,
i think the discription of two potions isn't complete or correct. "Potion of Alluring Aura" gives you not only an +1 Flirty moodlet. To my ingame (german) moodlet discription you will hardly fail a flirty social action. "Potion of the Transcendent Charmer" gives you a flirty interaction that rise you romance to the maximum.
The descriptions look ok to me so perhaps they area little different in other languages.
Hi there, I play the game in English and I also got an flirty interaction that said something like “use power of the transcendent charmer”. I selected it and the pink romance bar was raised to full. I was pleasantly surprised because I didn’t know the potion did that. All the descriptions I had read of the potion just said that it gives a flirty moodlet. I think others might like to know about this.
Just a quick clarification on the potion of immortality, it doesn’t stop your sim from aging, it just stops them from dying of old age. So basically, your sim will continue to age up to elder status and will remain an elder indefinitely unless they are killed off by a freak accident.
Hello!
Quick note on the Potion of Immortality. I've noticed that it doesn't actually stop Sims from aging. It just means they can longer die from old age. So they will keep aging until they reach Elder but never die of nature causes. You will still need to use the rejuvenation potion to keep them their current age by resetting their days.
A note on the potion of rejuvenation: when it fails, the sim is aged up to a day before the next age state.
What determines the quality of the potion? I've made potions two levels below my spellcaster level, while all needs are maxed, and had them turn out poor. I've tried being focused. I've tried being inspired. My potions are still terrible. What makes potions turn out Normal quality?
You get normal or excellent quality potions when your Spellcaster has leveled up. But I think, from memory, you can use the spell Delicioso on a potion to increase it's quality. Sorry I can't remember more but I only played through the pack once on release and haven't touched it again as it was such a disappointment. I guess it's time to play through it again to refresh my memory!
This isn't related but my sim collapsed. Next, it notified me that she was dying. After this, i begged the grim reaper. The next thing, it notifies me that the grim reaper was still going to tak her life. So, he slashed his thing, took her life and left an urn. So i'm all sad. I look back at my game and she's stood there. She is alive and well, theres an urn on my floor without a name and i have no clue what is happening. HELP!
Hey, can you throw potions?? How can I get another sim to take a potion?
You can't throw potions but with potions in your Spellcasters personal inventory click on the target sim >Magic>Give Potion>choose the potion you want them to take from the pop-up menu> target sim will drink it.
If you use repair spell on any potion its quality rise to excellent.
I have a question about the potion of Prompt Resurrection. How long does the protection from death last? Is it permanent or is it just for the 2 days that the sim has the confident moodlet? I've been trying to find out since the pack came out.
Thank you so much in advance because it's been driving me nuts.
