Brewing a Potion of Curse Cleansing is ONE way to remove curses. I suggest you have your Sim focus on Untameable magic if you want to cure curses easily. If you ensure you know all Untameable spells at Master rank, it'll be the first spell you learn from that school.
If your Sim fails to do certain activities enough, or just has some really bad luck, they can get a Curse. There are a total of nine unique curses in The Sims 4 Realm of Magic. While some are worse than others, in general Curses are to be avoided and will not wear off - ever - once they are applied to your Sim.
Using the Experiment interaction with a Cauldron will have your Sim unlocking new potion recipes. You'll get a free sample when you do. Now, very carefully cast the Copypasto spell at low to no charge on that sample while your Sim is in a good mood, bam. No more need for Citrine, Angelfish, etc. in order to make a Potion of Curse Cleansing. Copy your copies, then forget the curse system even exists. Sigh.
Once a Curse is applied, it won't wear off. You'll need to do one of two things to get rid of it. Have your Sim cast Decursify (or have a family member/Sim you control remove the curse this way). Decursify is a Master-rank spell in the Untamed branch, so you can get it once you've hit that rank. There is also a Potion of Curse Cleansing that can be learned at level 3, but it requires you to have an Apple, Citrine (crystal), Angelfish, and Mandrake on hand. All of these are available in the Realm of Magic, so it's not too hard to come up with them. Of course, you can also buy potion of Curse Cleansing from the potion shop sometimes. Check back daily for new wares.
For storytelling purposes, it may be desirable to use Trait.Equip_Trait to put a curse onto a Sim, or maybe you don't have the cure and despise the curse you already have. You can remove curses from your Spellcaster with Traits.Remove_Trait. Here's a list of all the Curses your Sim can get:

These will be further updated with details - I wanted to get info on curses out there, in particular the removal cheats in case people want to take advantage of them.

So does anything happen if the spectral wraith catches you? My sim had the curse, but she also has a CC Immortal trait, so even if it kills you when it catches you it wouldn't have hurt her. She used her long sleepless night to experiment til she learned the Potion of Curse Cleansing.
Not as far as I can tell, it's simply a ghost that haunts your sim.
Hi carl! Can u make a video featuring all these curses? It sound very interesting but i dont wanna risk my sim to die from overcharge
onlyabidoang on YouTube made a video about RoM, he shows some of the curses. A lot of them there's not much to see until its effect happens- for example, I had a sim get Curse of Unwarranted Hostility. Sims would fist fight her out of nowhere for no reason. Until someone attacks, there isn't a visual or anything. Thing is, I picked Nikita to check out RoM because she was a well established sim already, and single. One thing she had already done was finish the Athletic aspiration, so her attackers were in for a nasty surprise. That petite little blonde can take care of herself!
I don't know if it had anything to do with the curses or it was a random bug, but when I used the transportalate spell to get to the magical realm my sim turned to a tragic clown. When she changed her clothes it is gone though. I wonder if it is happened with others too.
It's something that can occur when the transport spell fails and yeah, looks like it is simply an outfit generated spell failure result.
Hey, please help me out - I have the Awkward Embraces curse and I’ve typed “Traits.Remove_Trait” countless times and it won’t go away. Testingcheats are on.

Something I thought I could add. Some curses might have interesting- or unintendedly-helpful effects. My Sim got the Scrambled Spells curse and any broken appliance in the game, when tried to Repairio on them, turned out to be the Copypasto spell.
So get an expensive TV, break it, then try to "repair" it over and over. Not sure if the scrambling is random, but if it isn't this might be an interesting way to get money.
The cheats don't even work I tried it many times
Just tested them again in my game and they are all working correctly. Not sure what you may be doing wrong as you don't go into detail in your comment.
I have a sim with the curse of unwarranted hostility from losing too many fights and the cheat to remove it isn’t working. I’ve tried using the cheat multiple times, turned the game off and back on and it still doesn’t work.
Exact cheat to use:
Traits.Remove_Trait Trait_Curses_PunchableFace
Copy and paste that into your cheats console after enabling 'testingcheats on'. This works for me so maybe you are making a typo?
Help! After I downloaded the Sims4 Realm of magic. And then did an update to the game the next day, now the top half of the screen glitches in and out. How do I stop it from doing that?
Try doing a game repair after taking out all your mods and cc. If you are using mods/cc then chances are some or all need updating, if you're not do a Game Repair as a first step: Select My Game Library in Origin. Right-click on the game tile. Select Repair Game.
You can also try a Factory Reset: How-To (click) instructions here.
When I try to remove the death by old age trait from my elder sim (Which I switched to a young adult with cas.fulleditmode on) it didn't work. I want Cinderella to meet her grandkids not in ghost form.can you help me. Also the skill cheat only works like 2 to 3 times in a row.
By changing the Sims age in CAS you've probably glitched out your Sim big time! Maybe try using a mod like MC Command Center and see if you can remove the hidden traits that will be left over on your sim from their previous age and curse etc. MC Command Center Link
I don't use MC Command Center myself so it's only a suggestion. But its definitely best to never change your Sims age in CAS!
Hi, I could not get the cheat to remove a curse to work, but maybe it's worth it to mention that there is a curse removal potion in the rewards store for 500 points. For however long I have been playing the game I had not realized this! I found the tip on the sims forum.
The potion is mentioned in the guide above.
The cheat is..for example:
Traits.Remove_Trait Trait_Curses_Repulsiveness
to remove the Curse of Repulsiveness and all the cheats seem to be working as expected in my game so check for typos or mods that may be causing a conflict.
Remember to enable testingcheats on first
I've tried that and rewording it to 'curseoftheduelist' instead of hex, as that is how it is worded in the game, still does not take it away.
