The Sims 4 Discover University: History
Standard and Distinguished History Degree Applications and Career Benefits

History Description: To move forward, we must understand our past. The History degree uses historical people and events as a jumping-off point for examining our modern age and the consequences of major historical choices. The degree helps build the charisma, logic, and research & debate skills.
Distinguished Application
Available at School: Britechester
Requirements: Being accepted into one of the two schools for a distinguished degree in history is not guaranteed, but having the following skills and factors in your favor will make it more likely. You begin with a 5/20 chance. This is multiplied by:
Factor | Skill Level? | Multiplier |
---|---|---|
High School | "A" Student | 2x |
High School | "B" Student | Flat, no gain or loss |
High School | "C" to "F" Student | From 0.5 (C) to 0.25 multiplier to score with D-F. |
Selvadoradian Culture | 3+ | x2 |
Archaeology | 3+ | x2 |
Charisma | 2-3 | x2 |
Logic | 2-3 | x2 |
Research and Debate | 2-3 | x2 |
Charisma | 4-6 | x4 |
Logic | 4-6 | x4 |
Research and Debate | 4-6 | x4 |
Charisma | 7-10 | x8 |
Logic | 7-10 | x8 |
Research and Debate | 7-10 | x8 |
Additionally, Sims can flaunt fame for a x2 multiplier (but will have it dropped to 0.25 on failure). Sims who donate can also see a big multiplier of x16, but a failure there is the worst of the bunch (0.125). Having a multiplier less than 1 is dropping the score a lot.
Ultimately, your final score will determine if you are accepted in to a distinguised program. There is a non-distinguished version of every degree in Discover University. If you fail to get into a distinguished program, you can take the regular version at the other school. There are caveats, so see the degrees guide for more detailed information. It also explains the difference between with and without honors.

I got a degree, but did not start a career at higher level... not sure why, but really annoying considering the amount of time my sim spent at university
My sim is already level 10 in the officer branch. Anybody know if there is any benefit of getting a degree at this point? Raises, etc.?
I mean, if you are only wanting a degree for career bonuses, then probably not but a Distinguished History Degree should give you some raise initially but I haven't play tested that. tbh you'd be better off taking a different Sim to uni as getting a good grade depends heavily on improving skill levels so if your sim already has high skill levels this could be problematic.
