The Sims 4 Playful Emotion

How to Make Your Sims Very Playful

The Sims 4 - a Very Playful Sim
Very Playful

Playful Mood
It's very easy for Sims who are Childish to get Very Playful (by playing with Toys), as well as Goofballs (random Moodlets for Playful). This is one of few positive Emotions that have more than just two stages - you can go beyond Very Playful all the way to Hysterics. Sims that go into hysterics can die from laughter when they hear a joke, so do Calm Self Down by using a Mirror if necessary to save your Sim's life! Dying from laughter is pretty funny though.

Skill/Career Ideal Moods
Playful is helpful to Entertainers (Comedians), the Comedy Skill, Mischief, and Sims in associated Careers.

It might be an item in the world that is giving off a playful aura. Or maybe something that is in the garden maybe? Did you download the house from the Gallery? The other thing it might be is a playful moodlet from watching comedy on the T.V. this can happen even if your sim does not have the Goofball trait. Also the lump of clay can make a sim playful depending on the shape they make with it and once it is placed on a surface (and not being held by the sim) it will give off an environment aura.

Thanks for all the wonderful guides over the years!

I have discovered, quite by accident, a new moodlet not in the guide. If your bathtub has the "Jet" upgrade, a child can choose to play in the jets and receive a +2 Playful moodlet for four hours.

I think you'll find there are many moodlets not listed in the formal guides. There are just too many to list!
We have a list that is on-going on the forum. Smile Even that doesn't have everything! Have a read a leave and post on the thread if you have found any more. It would be amazing to have a complete list.

No the Playful Essence is gained from feeding a sim who is in the playful emotion to a cow plant and then milking the cow plant gives you the playful essence drink.

The guide mentioned a potion AND essence. It talked about TWO drinkables. There's only one. The essence. That's what I was complaining about

Oh! I see! Sorry that you did all that as there is totally no playful potion from being a Master Mixologist! Crying I will make sure Carl fixes that asap. The Playful Potion listed there doesn't exist in the game anymore.

I've noticed that the coffee machine doesn't give my sims any moodlets anymore. Not sure if it's intentional or not. I've only tried it at my own house and not out in the world - might be just my lot, but it would be interesting to know if anyone else has noticed this.

Yes, it's a bug. If your sims drink the 'take out version of the coffee then they will still get the associated moodlets.

Tiny Living Stuff

The Sims 4 Tiny Living Stuff releases January 21 for PC/Mac, and February 4 for Xbox and Playstation 4. This new pack centers around the idea of making small homes and receiving bonuses to bills, comfort, and strangely skill gains for living in a small house. I'll make a guide page by release day but for now you can watch my Livestream Summary below to get a good grasp on what's coming in this new Stuff Pack.

I now have a guide page to Tiny Living Stuff where you can learn about Murphy Beds, the new death, as well as the lot bonuses you'll receive if you manage to keep the size of your lot down with this new pack's Tiny Home Lot Type.
